Haha, I didn't want to hi-jack Mark's good news until he had some time to enjoy that HHSS! Bruce is right, we had our baby boy last night at 10pm. Looks like I'll miss the bash tomorrow night...y'all have fun!

Awesome man, congrats! We'll miss you at the Scotch night, but I'll toast you tonight with something nice.

Well I guess if anyone needs a reason to drink, there's plenty of good news to go around this week! Bourbon for everyone!

Thanks guys! I smuggled in a little 2012 Stagg to celebrate. Running on 3hrs sleep so maybe it will help.

Moving furniture really sucks. FR125 on the other hand does not. Been a long day...well deserved pour

That's why you hire movers. I'd need something a little stronger...ECBP?

Toasting you, the missus, and your newest addition with a pour of FR 125th. Congratulations!

Reached waaay back in the open bottle cabinet and brought out the PHC6. I'd forgotten how dark and rich this one is, even with a little water added (my days of drinking 139.4 proof whiskey straight are over). This could be the pour of choice for the weekend.

2004 Stagg to start the weekend, and I am again reminded of the greatness of this whiskey. Getting a surprising vein of butterscotch oozing out from the normal profile I usually pick out. A muscular pour if there ever was one, but so much more to offer than brute force. It's complexity rivals any whiskey on the planet.

Started the evening with Rittenhouse 100 Rye Manhattans.

Finishing with Rock Hill Farms, neat at first, then maybe adding an ice cube.

Nice pour, chocolate and tobacco notes. with a bit of acetone. Very little alcohol burn.

Glad I grabbed two bottles.

4R Private Selection Single Barrel OESK at 57.7% abv.

This is always always an exceptional pour.

If you are a fan of the BT mashbill, but find Stagg Jr. to be too harsh, try adding some standard BT to the Jr. It's quite a tasty treat.

WT101 tonight. I see nothing wrong with this at all, and I'd easily give it an A-. Makes me want to grab an OGDBIB, OGD114, and a WTRB and do SBS's

Now that is a worthy task. I have all of these on hand and will try this soon.

Had some ER on the patio last night. I'm just going to go ahead and be proactive in the new abbreviation as I saw dozens of it on the shelf yesterday, all with the new label minimizing the 10 years to small font only on the back of the bottle. It's just a matter of time it appears...

Had a second pour of Barterhouse last night. I think it is starting to open up a bit. More hints of buried flavors.

Had some EC18 last night. It was decent, but probably on the lower end of EC18s that I've had.

I thoroughly enjoyed the bottle that Tony brought to the Gazebo, so maybe my standards are now too high for EC18. :)

Cracked open that WFE 8 yr last night and had a couple pours. It needed a bit of water to tame it, but very nice stuff. Made me think of a barrel proof EWSB. (Which it may essentially be) Very rich, just enough oak without being too tannic on the finish.

Finished the night with a pour of WR Double Oaked and I have to say that it is definitely unique and enjoyable. I don't know if it matters that this is a gift shop bottle or not, but I've never had a bourbon with so much butterscotch in it. I've changed my mind on this one; I'll definitely buy it again.

Last couple pours of OGD114 in me coffee. Trying to decide if I want to work in the yard today or tomorrow.
