flahute
Going with a Weller 12 / OWA blend. I know I'm going against the grain here, but I'm gravitating towards being much heavier on the Weller 12 side. My first attempt many weeks ago was 50:50. Then I went 60:40 in favor of the OWA. At first I thought this was it like many others here. But then I kept getting a lot of cloying sweetness in it - too much OWA influence for me. This was after letting it sit and mingle for 2-3 weeks. So now I'm at an unscientific 80:20 or so in favor of Weller 12 that's had a week or more to mingle and this is tasting pretty darn good. I really really like the smoothness and age of the 12 and a little OWA amps it up and gives it a little more punch. There's more experimentation to do, but this seems like the sweet spot for me. hn4bourbon
Had two big pours of McKenna BiB and emptied the bottle. I really enjoyed this 2/3rds of the bottle.
TunnelTiger
Felt like having some butterscotch so a couple pours of EWSB03 hit the spot.
drunk
Finished off my last Weller 12 last night. I really hope it doesn't take long to replace it. Followed that up with some Four Kings. Still not taking to that one very well. I had to wash the young grains taste out of my mouth with the last of a Bowman Bros standard bottle, which I really enjoyed. DocHolliday
Just poured myself a very (maybe too much) generous amount of Stagg Jr after a long afternoon of job interviews.
GaryT
Had a very non-eventful taste of 1792 RR, private barrel against an 8yr bottle from 2 yrs back. On the plus side, the private barrel wasn't a bad/funky barrel - but no discernible difference. I see whiskey sours in its future. Followed it up with some Stagg Jr

r60slash5
Old Blowhard. Pricey but I've been enjoying it off and with ETL all week. My wife really liked the nose, she doesn't drink Bourbon.Ted
smokinjoe
Had a really good meeting today, so the Woodford on the plane back home was better than usual. Matter of fact, it was stellar. Somewhat disappointed to see that the Woodford airplane bottles just shifted to plastic.

Sometimes the circumstance is just as important as the liquid. That's what's so great about bourbon - so many ways and reasons to enjoy it. GaryT
Cracked open the Bookers 2013-6 for a little blind sbs against an "almost 8yr" retail batch I snagged last year. Definitely glad I broke down and grabbed the 2013-6. I diluted the pours down to 105 proof for the comparison, and the 2013-6 held up really well, with a longer finish and a great balance between the caramel/toffee and spicier notes of the finish.
