It has been a Four Roses kind of day. Started with standard small batch and then went to some 125th. Now onto some OESK single barrel private selection. Hard to beat this lineup.

Had a drink of Rowan's Creek tonight with my brother in law. First thing I noticed: this tastes an awful lot like the bottle of black maple hill I bought last year on a whim. A whole awful lot. Decent, but not amazing or anything. I am sure there is an age/barrel selection difference, but KBD has to be sourcing these from the same place/mashbill. I'd do a blind SBS, but I don't really like either one enough to buy (again). If I did, I don't see a strong argument for the BMH over the Rowan's Creek.

Tried 2 of the recently acquired 10 strains of four roses. OESF and OBSK private selections. The OBSK (12 year old) was one of the best bourbons I've tasted. Absolutely delicious. The OESF was no slouch either.

Had a small pour or WLW tonight. That thing is really opening up nicely. I love wheaters but it's taken me awhile to come around on this one. Tasted mighty fine tonight, though. Then switched to EC21 and finally ETL.

Last night we had a wedding to go to a Mexican restaurant (you read that right). All they had was Jim and Jack so I had to help myself a small ORVW10 when we got home.

Nice weekend, happy Memorial Day.

Not tonight, but in a few.....Packing for a road trip to Branson with my car buddy's. That is where my whiskey journey began. Packed up a GTS, Jeffersons Ocean and Garrison Cowboy Bourbon. I know one buddy is bringing a PVW 23 and a CHT Barrel Strength. Another is brining a new Herman Marshall barrel selection (their first ever). So should be some very fine tastings each evening after the days car events.

Picked up a couple more 8 year Old Scout Single Barrels and cracked one open tonight. I can't get enough of these, and I'm not talking store picks either. Just the regular single barrels.

Just back from a weekend on the water with good friends and family. Spent a good amount of time on the Ohio river today, and of course, I had to stop at TPS. I needed to pick up my OWA order, plus pick up some other goodies. I snagged a new WTRB, amongst other things.

Sooooo, I'm laid back right now with pours of both the Antique and the Rare Breed. Both totally different, both very yummy. I likey...:yum:

Capping off a fantastic holiday weekend with some '13 Handy and some '11 ER17. Wishing this weekend had another day, not ready to hit the grind stone tomorrow.

Ended the weekend with a shot of 4RSB followed by a big shot of Rare Breed 108. Ummmm. The RB won that time.

Hardly ever do this but.....enjoyed a couple of lunch time pours. 4RYL and OGD114. One of the perks of working at home.
