having some of it right now, celebrating my completion and graduation from an RN program today. Nothing better to celebrate it with, in my mind!

Congrats, Doug. I'm sure it feels great. What's your next step?

Enjoyed a pour of W 12 last night. Should have been a pour of ECBP in honor of our buddy Doug's graduation.

Congrats Doug! I know it was hard work, but here's to you! :toast:

I hesitated due to the price at first. First few sips, I didnt quite get it, then it kicked in. It's a peculiar profile, something totally unlike any other bourbon or whiskey Ive had. Give it a shot!

and what'd you think of it?

My beautiful wife gifted me a bottle of FRSB (OBSV - BevMo selected). Never had the single barrel before... very nice, similar but stronger flavors of the standard small batch. Fruity, floral, with some nice rye spice. This will be my Game of Thrones pour for the near future.

Did a taste-off of four mingles of WT101 (current expression and some "No 8 Brand) from 1996) and OF (some current OFS, and some dusty 1985 OF 86). Was surprised that of the four, my favorite was the current WT101 + dusty OF86 (especially since the 2nd place finisher was the dusty WT101 + current OFS!!) Definitely need to do a few more with this line-up before making a larger vatting. Decided to pour some WT101 No 8 - a lovely pour all by its lonesome :yum:

The last 2 fingers of an Old Fitz DSP-16. It may be Mother's Day, but daddy gets to enjoy the day as well

After enjoying a couple of fingers of SAOS neat last night, I thought I'd try it again tonight and see if it hits the spot again. Yep, good call. Really like this and now it looks like I'll be replacing that bottle much sooner than expected.

I don't know if we are all watching the Pacer game but the Indiana guys are drinking tonight! John came over earlier. John J. Bowman, that is. Haven't had it for a while. I like it but not a top pour. His cousin, Elmer, came a little later. Not the new version. Good to visit with an old friend.

FRSB and then BT with with Game of Thrones (killer episode!)... then my wife wanted to watch Revenge, so I poured myself 3 fingers of EWB, and prayed for it to be over as quickly as possible.

Started with 4R 125th before firing up the grill for some steaks. After dinner, a little ER10 and then some NAS BMH. (Trying to kill the BMH and make some room.)

Sat I tried some 50/50 MM/WT101 and then some MM/OGD114. Other than the SB blend this was my first attempt and although I only had a couple pours of each the MM/OGD114 was the best. I did finish off the night with a SB pour. It still amazes me just how good this is.

polished off the Fitz BIB last night. I used to enjoy it at restaurants, but this bottle wasnt enjoyable. Larceny is SOOO much better

I'm still learning my way around Larceny again after buying a liter last week. Tried it in a Manhattan last night: not a good idea, too sweet. I realize/remember that I really prefer rye or a high rye bourbon in my Manhattans.

But it's still a good bottle. It's a thicker, sturdier, slightly more interesting Maker's Mark.

Life is busy... realized I hadn't dropped by SB in a while.

This week's Bruins and Canadiens series has been enjoyed mostly with OGD114 and Manhattans made with this year's WTR101. For many Boston fans, this series is only a tiny smidge less important than the Stanley Cup final. Still working on figuring out tonight's selection for Game 5.
