About to crack the seal on SAOS 10 YO, see how it compares to the cask strength 8 YO I've had open a couple of months.

my first 'home' bottle of WT101. I disagree with all the current WT haters. sure, its not the best bourbon in the world, but well worth its $20 price tag, for sure! Ive seen a lot of $5 rebate tags on the shelves too...

I'm with ya. I finished my first bottle of WT101 last week and enjoyed it immensely without considering it's inexpensive price. The fact it can be had for $20 makes it all the better.

First, a pour of Kirkland's... then a giant pour of BT to wallow in my Bruins vs goal-post sorrows.

Had a pour of rittenhouse rye, redemption rye and heart of gold forty creek. Well I guess I didn't have any bourbon tonight. Rye and Canadian whiskey only.

Started off with good old basic BT and it satisfied as always. Now onto some ER10 to keep it in the family. BT is winning tonight.

Blown away by the Baker's I had in the hotel bar, tonight. Pure Beam house style, with proof, and a heavy substance to it. Loved it.

Have you had it before but tonight's was better than usual? I don't recall you ever mentioning this one in the past. (I am a newb so I could have missed a past mention).

Had another pour of ETL Comm last night. Having a couple of pours of McKenna BiB tonight.

Edit: I don't know if anyone else have the same experience. My McKenna's been opened around 6-9 months. I didn't care for it earlier on up until tonight. It tasted cleaner, crisper, lighter, and the flavors were sharper as well as more intensified. Tonight, having not revisited this bottle for several months, the pours tonight taste round, full, balanced, rich, smooth! I can't stop sipping on it!

Is it me or is HH 6/90 just as good as WR? Had some WR followed by the HH tonight and I liked the HH better! Not a blind test but still pretty objective.

Enjoying a taste of EC12 tonight. Yum.

EC12 is quickly becoming one of my favorite pours.

Finally got the picture from the barrel pick. I am the guy selling ice cream...

Invited to help a local store pick a barrel of Russell's Reserve SBSB 110 pf this morning with Master Distiller Eddie Russell. Of course since I was on my way to work this morning I was not able to participate in the choosing. And there was absolutely no reason why I bought that pack of Big Red gum this morninig either...

I also shared a bit of the SB.com HHSS with Mr. Russell and he seemed to approve. He was also more than willing to venture outside of the bourbon zone (something he said his father will rarely do!) so I also provided him a taste of a Clement single cask rhum that is about as whiskey like as any rum I have ever tasted. He seemed to really like that one!

I also asked if his father really did keep his Rare Breed in the freezer and he confirmed that he sometimes did. His whiskey so he can drink it his way if he likes!

Got a couple of bottles signed and had a picture taken but it wasn't with my phone so I haven't gotten a copy yet (will probably show up as soon as I submit this). All in all a pleasant way to start the work day.

Finished off my bottle of WT American Spirit. This one was greatly enjoyed and I will miss it. MANY thanks to the SB member who helped me track it down a while back!
