JGriff
Finally opened my PVW 15 yr. Celebrated some good news with good friends. Was damn good. Might try some ETL tonight. Never tasted it but heard it's good. Cheers.

petrel800
TPS 4RSB selection from about 2 years ago. Not the best 4RSB selection I've had but it's still good.

jeffrey r
A small pour at home of '03 EWSB store selection before me and the Mrs. head out to dinner. Once out, I believe I will go with my usual FRSB on the rocks at this place.

Enjoyed a nice pour of Weller Special Reserve 7-Year paper label, 1999 (Louisville) pregame. Now enjoying a pour of Crown's SAOS 8-Yr.

Scotch Neat
My son walks in picks up my glass of Elmer T Lee takes a small sip and says ah its ok, I thought it was just fine. I then went to Laphroaig triple wood hoping he would come and take a sip and I could see his reaction of phenolic paradise.
jonnyd
Noah's Mill Batch# 11-25. Pretty decent pour but I still would place it below HH 6/90 on the Price to Pleasure scale. I can taste what I presume to be it's HH origins. Edited May 25, 2014 by jonnyd

flahute
Went to a very nice restaurant last night that only serves locally grown and raised food - very good. Unfortunately (for me), the same ethos applies to the spirits selection. I decided to give it a go and try something local I hadn't had yet and went with Burnside Bourbon 4yr out of Oregon. Meh. Tastes very young and underdeveloped. Needs more time still. Pleasant enough to sip on, but it wouldn't replace anything currently in the cabinet. I came home and redeemed the bourbon part of the evening with some standard BT.
GaryT
Tasted some mingles of WT and OF (the current 101 version and some "No 8 Brand" from 96, along with current OFS and some OF86 from 1985). Inconsistent findings from the last time I bumped these four against each other, although the OF86 was in 3 of the 4 "top 2" slots. Me thinks that the "No 8 Brand" WT101 must be fairly close to the current WT101. The 1985 OF86 is significantly different from today's OFS (besides the 14 proof points difference, which is at least halved in the mingle). mbroo5880i
Started out with a 2 oz. pour of ETL + Sprite with lots of ice to fill a shot glass. I presume Mr. Lee enjoyed it over ice. While I could taste the whiskey, the Sprite overpowered the bourbon flavor. It tasted no different than Canadian Club and Sprite from my younger days. Frankly, it was too light and dangerously drinkable for my liking. I finished it pretty quickly! Now, enjoying a 2 oz. pour of ETL with a small cube. Much better! Scotch Neat
Weller 12 followed by Henry Mckenna 10, the Weller 12 was pretty tasty. Seems to me the Weller gets better after it is opened for a few weeks.
