Passed on a Bookers 25th Anniversary, $110 before taxes.

I'm curious, what is the MSRP on this? I'd have thought about $75, max

Passed on a Thomas H Handy for $160. I was tempted mainly because it's the first BTAC I've ever seen, but I'm not enough of a rye fan to justify the price.

I thought MSRP was $100 but I paid $92 + taxes for mine. A local chain recently had anywhere from 3 - 6 bottles per store for $125. They were sitting there for weeks until some posts came up that the chain carried them, now they're all gone.

Passed on CEHT Single Barrel for $65, was just glad to see some of it back in my local store. Thought it might be gone for good.

Although both are not bourbons, I passed up a bottle of Stranahans and JSP 25year Rye. The JSP had a sticker price of $199.99

I find it amusing that with all the beam bashing that Beam products seem to get, that releasing a special edition of something that I regularly see sitting on shelves for quite some time just flies off the shelf at 3x the normal Booker's price.

While I take every opportunity to bash Pennsylvania's monopolistic liquor-Nazi-overlords and getting-rich-on-the-scheme-politicians, at least we don't have to deal with ridiculous markups like that. And I've seen worse recently by other posters. I just bought 2 Barterhouse for $70 per bottle and felt that was insane. Now yeah we have controlled pricing, but the fact remains at least you guys have an opportunity to buy THH13, PVW15, PVW23, or any older rare bottle for that matter. Sure you're going to get gouged and I think its insane, but at least its there on shelves if wanted.

The vast majority of stores that receive special editions in MD tend to price at MSRP or up to $30 over, depending on the release. I don't really have a big problem paying $100 for a bottle of George T. Stagg, but I won't be paying $400 for it, which is what this place was charging when they still had it. This particular store is notorious for marking up limited release bottles (ETL Comm for $89), but they sell a lot of things I want for very low prices, particularly scotches.

From what I'm hearing from store owners this year, many are fed up with the fall bourbon rush, and some are planning on publicly announcing the release of all their BTAC/PVW/etc and putting them all on the shelves at once just to get it over with. I've talked to a couple others that are just going to start lying and saying they don't get any allocation at all when people they don't know start sniffing around, but aren't sure what they'll do with the bottles they actually do receive. Personally, I have one or two places that will probably hold a bottle for me if I ask, but I'm thinking about just letting it all go to people who want it more than I do.

Feel free to share any good Maryland locations you know of! :-) I live near Baltimore and have some go to spots but not sure where to start for some of the harder to get releases come this fall.

Visited a store that I've never been to and they had a store selection OWA107 for $22. Not bad, I'll pick up my next bottle from there is my usual shop runs out.

Found a Parker's Heritage Blend Of Mashbills today for $130. I passed.

What do you guys think? I'd never seen one before (only started hunting this year). Is $130 a fair price these days for this one?

It's excellent barrel proof whiskey. I'm kicking myself for not buying at least a couple for $84.99 last year in the early fall. $130 is a fair price at this point.

It's on my short list for sure Just bought 3 Elijah Craig store selects so had to show some restraint. If it were Stranahan's limited releases, I'd be all over that for sure.

Although I spent some time in the store debating today, I ended up passing on everything which included Mitchlers 10yr and some CEHT SB. Too much change going on in life right now to drop the coin it would have taken to get both of these. If I didn't have those other factors at play, both of them would have found a happy new home.

We're at Denali Park in Alaska. The local store has a better than average selection but the prices tend to run about $20 too much. Passed on the FC at $31.99.
