Hop
Back to the Old Ezra 101 tonight. Also picked up some new glasses today. These are "Canadian" Wide Bowl Glencairns made in Germany. For fire that out. Also picked up a couple of stemmed sippers. The Heaven Hill Glemcairn is there to show the size difference.
GaryT
Checked skydiving off the bucket-list (while representing the GBS, whom the waiver was extended to), so felt like a monster pour was in order. HHSS SB#1 is doing the trick (although may be followed by the 2nd barrel!)

flahute
Came down with a cold yesterday so nothing currently tastes right. Still, it feels good on the sore throat so I'm drinking my inexpensive BIB's for now. HH BIB Gold Label and OGD BIB will have to do until I can smell properly again. kjbeggs
Worked at my mother's house all day on the "Sonny Do" list. Planted several shrubs, replaced a faucet, and did several general home maintenance type chores. Winding down with a little Weller 12, while hoping for a "well-earned massage" from the wife. Red One
Just poured a spot of FRSB OESO that I picked up at the gift shop this week. My first time having this one and it is sipping VERY nicely.

lrochau
Not tonight but impromptu tasting last Friday before pearl jam concert with some friends - pappy 15, er101 Frankfort, four roses single barrel selections (white chocolate, Lincoln whiskey kitchen and eagle river). Couple guys had never had pappy or er101 before. Sharing with friends makes everything taste better! Also downed a hand picked ETL on the ride over to the show. Paul W
At a dinner party of about 10 people I put on a mini whiskey tasting. These are wine people so bourbon is new territory, but they know how to taste/smell, were interested and enjoyed it.In an effort to show a variety of styles in their affordable expressions, I went with:Mellow CornOld Forester SigLarcenyDickel 8 Ritt
LCWoody
Went to a great local restaurant tonight with my wife (of course like most LA restaurants the food was great). I went to the bar to see what bourbon they had and found a bottle of Rowan's Creek tucked away on the bar. Other than the usual bourbons you see at a restaurant it was something different. Asked to see the bottle and low and behold it's the 12y age stated. I finished the bottle, and it was very, very good. Side note totle of $12 to finish it, had about a 1/3 left in bottle. HHSS SB#1 is doing the trick (although may be followed by the 2nd barrel!)I used to thoroughly enjoy doing that on weekends. Being older now, and knowing what I now know about bones and joints, Im afraid to go back to it. Same with skiing. I think Ill just stick with the musclecars from here on out. Have a 5 day weekend next week and likely will use the whole thing tracing down every wire on the mustang project to get it ready for the stroker v8 and 5 speed it was never meant to have.Back on topic.....a group of us got in costume and went out to a nice dinner, then to a karaoke bar. I had some EC12 at the friends house where we met, then some HH6/90 at the restaurant...one of the two restaurants I know of where I can actually order that. The EC12 was better, as I had a suspicion I was given black 80 HH instead. Regardless, I was in full lederhosen on stage singing britney spears to a crowd of other people who also thought it a good night for costumed karaoke. we have great friends!
