ldugsjr1986
Thanks to the help of member Chain Whip for helping acquire some of these tasty selections (ECBP's). Me and a couple buddies hit up a barrel proof tasting the other night. This is a shot from the beginning. The later pictures are all too blurry to tell anything. Haha GTS 128.2 ECBP 134.8 ECBP 132.4 GTSJR 132.2 FR Single Barrel Barrel Strength (OESO) 110 CEHTBP 135.4 We blinded it and the results were (favorite to least favorite): GTS, FR1B, ECBP 134, CEHTBP, ECBP 132, GTSJR Tried small pours of each neat, and with water. It was a close tie between the top 3 honestly. We ended the evening with pours of EC23. We didn't blind it, though if we had it would have come in 5th among the others. Thanks again Chain Whip for helping locate the ECBPs.

You were brave to blind test Stagg Jr. I think I'd need to know that one was coming at me, just to be braced for it. It's a fun ride on a wild beast, but one false move and it's gonna burn you. TunnelTiger
Finished a bottle of KCSB (delicious) and opened a bottle of AAA 10*. As much as I enjoy this one I really wish I could have the 10 yr available.

dcbt
I went to the movies last night. They had four bourbon choices: MM, JB, JD, and the one I went with, KC. I hadn't had it in awhile, tasted pretty good to me last night while watching Gone Girl.
suntour
I bet the 129 EH Taylor would have fared better. The complete opposite of Stagg Jr.

flahute
It's a BT kind of day. I started with Blanton's SFTB. Love this stuff even though I'm "meh" on the standard label. Followed that with a pour of '14 GTS to celebrate the Seahawks victory over the Eagles. Currently drinking a mingle of Stagg Jr. batch 1 and some CEHT SmB. It can't compete with Sr. by any measure, but it's a darn tasty substitute that I'll roll with so I don't burn through the Sr. bottle too quickly. I think I'll have another. t44tq
I had the chance to drink some unusual stuff at a bar recently:Parker's Heritage 6th release- blend of mashbills- great stuff, rich flavor, got to get some!Wild Turkey Tradition 14 yr.- Pretty oaky/woody, not bad, but not exactly my taste.Four Roses 125th Anniv. SmB- I've had this before, love it, sad that I can't get it unless I pay an exorbitant price. Now I want to find some of that PHC6!
BonVivant84
Saw a bottle called Classic Cask 15 behind a bar this weekend and it was some good stuff. Bartender says it was just a bottle someone found and didn't know anything about it except Heaven Hill made it.

flahute
Interesting vat. What ratios you use?Very non scientific since these two are the same mashbill. I started with a standard pour of Jr., about 1.5 oz. and then added a quick little pour of CEHT right out of the bottle. Tasted great that way so I haven't needed to get more picky with the ratio.
