GerryM
Passed on Stagg Jr 132prf for $45. It has never "wowed" me in the past but wonder if I made a mistake.

It may be worth it to you, if just for vatting purposes.
texaspete
Nothing super rare. I keep passing up makers 46, and the 1.75 liter Eagle Rare 10 even though I know I like them, because I keep buying other things.

DonutsNBourbon
Hard to do, but, OWA for $21.99 . . . have enough on hand . . . cheers to those who come after. did the same, with Weller12 and OWA. figured I had 4 bottles of W12 already and I can find OWA easily around here. so we're allowing others to experience the greatness of Weller too
Special Reserve
Hard to do, but, OWA for $21.99 . . . have enough on hand . . . cheers to those who come after.I used to do that with the Van Winkle products (although at a slightly higher price) for the exact same reasons. If I knew then what I do now... Such is life. These days I pass on most bourbon but when I have a desirable pour at a reasonable price, I'm hooked. TunnelTiger
Not a bourbon but I passed on a AE rye for $89. I did walk out with three bottles of rye (RITTBIB, SAOS 7 yr, JEP) for only $2 more.

amg
Yep, OWA has been very scarce here for at least the past year. Places hide it in the back or put it in lotteries now.
mbroo5880i
Normally, I wouldn't post passing on standard stuff but I feel an obligation to fair and balanced reporting. I often bust Big Red's chops on their pricing but I saw a few sale items with very good prices for the Indy area, especially one of the bigger chains. They have HW Double Rye for $30, MM46 for $30, and Green Spot for $40. Everything else is still over priced.

flahute
Passed on Old Blowhard for $300. Sadly, someone actually bought it for that price.
Old Dusty
I think that's their angle. Jack up the prices on most things, then occasionally bust out a killer deal. They've been doing a beer special every Saturday lately too, and it's usually a pretty good discount.
berto
Passed on three store selected RR single barrel small batch whatever they call it. My buddy bought one and convinced a random shopper to buy one too. We cracked it when we got back to work and it was really good. Very spicy. I'm trying to buy fewer bottles this year and make a dent in what I already have.

fishnbowljoe
Excuse me sir but your pejorative context of the word Chops must be addressed. HahahaJust to clarify things for you Kevin, chops = butt. I would have used the more familiar term ass, but that might be conceived as inappropriate. :slappin:Cheers! Joe

suntour
Still couldn't get myself to grab a HH6/90 even now that the Six Year age statement has nearly dropped off the bottle. Suspect it won't be there much longer.

smokinjoe
the newer ones dont have the big red block with the '6' in it anymore on the shoulder of the bottle, but do still say '6 years old' in small print on the neck band. I missed that small print myself months ago and thought it went NAS. seems like a move intended to transition it eventually to nas, but who really knows
