Started with some Weller 12 mixed with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer. Now having some 7 YO SAOS. It's got that great "varnishy" nose tonight.

Mr. Dant came by for morning coffee.

Miss my Sat morning coffee with bourbon. Had to take the girls to Petco at 9:30 for their doos and have several more honeydoo errands to run today. I'll make up for it tomorrow.

This past week at work was a very good one for me. Yeah, a whole week. :skep: I was actually given a couple of "atta boys" for my performance and productivity. My company is also planning on contracting out some work in an area that I'm frequently involved in. I was consulted by management, and representatives from the company we may use, on my expertise in that area. Another "atta boy" and thank you's from all involved. Soooooo, I'm taking a page out of Will's (SpecialReserve) book. I'm kicking back with a pour of my favorite 07 WLW this morning with my coffee. Great way to start the weekend.

Cheers to Will, and everyone!

Joe

Guess I was on a "finished" kick yesterday. Had an Angel's Envy when out to dinner, it tasted so good I decided a MWND would be fitting when I got home. The latter is really starting to hit the sweet spot for me lately. Have had it a couple times in the last week and every time it seems to get better. I may have to get a back up bottle.

Starting off with regular FRSmB this afternoon. Been drinking FRSmB 2013 and FRSmB 2014 and it is good to try the regular and very good FRSmB. Sometimes having a regular, easy to find stand by is a great thing.

Best regards, Tony

Went to the Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar in NKY with some friends last night. Had a flight of AAA10, ETL and Blanton's in that order. I enjoyed all three of them, but found the ETL to be "just right."

Cracked open a Lost Prophet today and find it very enjoyable. In a blind taste I'd never guess it to be 22 yrs old, but I'll have no problem finishing this bottle. Buy another one......probably not

What are my fellow Straight bourbon drinkers drinking this weekend ? I started this cold Saturday night with Ezra B single barrel 12 yr old. I quite like this bourbon that's near 100 proof. The chocolate chip cookies I'm inhaling seem to go quite well with it.

Skipping the weekend entirely. I have a scheduled barrel selection on Monday, to pick from 5-recipes of Four Roses. I want to be totally fresh so as to get an accurate slant on all five.

Been tough; but, I'm bearing up so far.

Wow how does a barrel selection work ? How many bottles do you get when you pick a barrel ?

Nice on the barrel selection. Finished a bottle of BT store selection aged an extra 15 months. Very good, about to pour an ER10

I think you have captured my thoughts as well. This was probably a result of low proof and hellacious filtering. Enjoyable but lacking punch and much impact on the palate. Great nose but doesn't deliver on that promise.
