Did a SBS of Stagg jr batch 1 & 3, followed with a healthy pour of rendezvous rye finished in Manhattan barrels.

Last night I started with WTRB, then FRSB Store Select OBSK, and ended with HWRR. Tonight I took my daughter to are our annual father daughter dance. Now that we are back from the Sweetheart Ball and she is fast asleep I'm relaxing with a another pour of the OBSK.

Last night was one of those nights where for no reason in particular, the really good stuff made an appearance. Over the holidays, I overdid it with barrel proofers and, well, everything, and burned out my taste buds a bit. So I've been on a run of basics and have been limiting myself to 90-100 proof for the most part for the past month. Last night started like that 4RYL and then? A light switch turned on in my head and I went with ORVW10yr. And then '14WLW. And then '14GTS. All were exquisite. Hello old friends.

After feeling crummy yesterday and keeping my drinking to water and coffee, tempting fate this afternoon with a little OESK from a new acquisition. Lovely - definitely want to do a sbs with the GBS OBSK at some point!

I've been becoming reacquainted with ETL and W12 over the last few nights along with some store selection OWA. Good stuff on a cold winters night.

Inspired by our BOTM, a couple of pours of Stagg Jr. Still on the hot side, but when I find the right dilution point - quite enjoyable.

This past week at work was a very good one for me. Yeah, a whole week. :skep: I was actually given a couple of "atta boys" for my performance and productivity. My company is also planning on contracting out some work in an area that I'm frequently involved in. I was consulted by management, and representatives from the company we may use, on my expertise in that area. Another "atta boy" and thank you's from all involved. Soooooo, I'm taking a page out of Will's (SpecialReserve) book. I'm kicking back with a pour of my favorite 07 WLW this morning with my coffee. Great way to start the weekend.

Cheers to Will, and everyone!

Joe

Joe,

You're making me long for a morning where I have no commitments. WLW 07 beside a morning coffee is about as good as it gets.

What is that point Gary? I'll be darned if I can find it, and I really want to...

EWSB to start. I haven't poured this in quite a while and had only one pour from this bottle. I found it quite thin.

Moved on to a store selection of 1792

Sittin' out back relaxing with an Oliva V and Makers 46 watching a squirrel torment the Sheltie by jumping from tree to tree. Great exercise for her and great entertainment for me. IMO, 46 is one of the great readily obtainable bourbons I have available.

Merged the "What are you drinking this weekend?" thread into the general/seasonal discussion on the same topic.

Which SB? I like the 2003 better than the 2004 (I think but for sure either of those better than the 2002).

Don't sweat it, Phil. The worst 4R SB is still better than the best Stagg Jr.
