Tasted the first offering (in our area) of EWSB '05. This one is my least fave of the last several. Of course the next shipment may be somewhat different as this is a Single Barrel series. . . . Most of these have been exemplary. . . . Even excellent, especially for the cheese. I'm hopeful this one will improve in the bottle with some 'air-time'..... or that the next one I try (from a different barrel) will be closer to the profile that I like. This one isn't 'bad' mind you; just a shade too woody. Still a solid pour.

I had another decent day at work again. :skep: So far, it's been a HH kinda' night for me. Started out with a very small pour of VROHH 8/86, then a small pour of HH gold label BIB. I'm now nursing a pour of EW BIB. Go figure.

Joseph, you keep that up and the W.L. Weller fan club will revoke your membership.

HHSS #2 followed by a small pour of CEHT SB. The HHSS #2 has really improved over time.

Coming down with a cold and I have no cough medicine, so a bit of Buffalo Trace over ice is substituting well.

Got the spreadsheet out and pulled one from the bunker. Old Fitz BIB faux tax strip and bottom of bottle etched with an 87. Noses like cotton candy mixed with chunks of pecans.

I've been killing on a McScrooge's private selection WT RRSmBSB lately, and tonight it's 110 proof is needed after the day I had. Loads of caramel and a deliciously thick and oily mouthfeel. Super pick by the seemingly "can't miss" selectors at McScrooge's.

Shot the last ounce of a bottle of Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon. I'm not sad to see it go.

Washing the taste of it out of my mouth with some 4R Single Barrel, which is also near empty. I will be sad to see this one go. (Fortunately I've got 4 of the 10 recipes waiting to be opened).

I decided to reach outside the usual lineup, and went with an Angels Envy blend by Poison Girl. Definitely different, but it hits the spot tonight.

Once work is done, I think I'll cap things off with one of the McScrooge's SAOS picks. Thanks Joe for making me think of that!

Having some store pick HMK 10yr. Nice and spicy. Almost tastes more like WT juice than HH, but delicious regardless.

Bought a bottle of ER10 over the weekend for the purpose of trying out that VWFRR simulation vat being discussed over in the Rye thread. Haven't gotten to that yet because I'm enjoying the ER10 as is just fine. I was kind of "meh" on this one when I finished my first bottle of it last year, but find myself liking it more than I remember. Could be some single barrel variation at work here. (Yes, I know it's no longer called a single barrel, but it still essentially is). Could be my palate has changed. Either way, I may have to consider making this a regular.

BT last night. In Vegas for work and the BT was the only thing on my preference list that I could find at the 2 liquor stores I stopped at. Bourbon selection is weak outside of the casinos.

I only went into one liquor store (a total wine) while in vegas last month, but the Palms Casino's central bar was the ONLY place I saw with a substantial choice of bourbons. By the time I discovered that, I didnt mind paying $20 for a nice neat pour of POH.

I would buy an OWA, limit one, for $24.99 or even a little more if I could find one! :skep:

My wife is soaking raisins with HH6 BIB to make some valentines cookies. Yes, for me! So, although I usually wait until the weekend for a taste, I decided to have a "small" taste. Always good. I then decided to branch out and try something that I have been curious about - a 50/50 mix of HH6 BIB and EWSB. I guess in theory this is a 93 proof HH/EW mashbill blend. I find the bottle of EWSB that I have to have a hint of cherry. The HH6 BIB spices it up. Pretty solid. I really like it!
