Decided to open a bottle of ETL this afternoon as I haven't poured any in a few months just to see if it's still my favorite. It is. Glad I stocked a few back when I could.

This also solidifies that I like the regular better than the ETLC. I finished off a bottle of it last week.

I just like the regular better.

Just chillin out with a little Eagle Rare 10. Haven't had it in awhile and it hit the spot.

Tried JPS21 out of a fancy ol Brandy Snifter. Brought out a very buttery flavor and texture unseen so far in this bottle. Actually caught some distinct rye spice notes, too. Maybe old craggy bourbon just needs the proper snooty glassware to make me really love it.

It is smooth and drinkable. I feel there is no body to this bourbon

It is a nice bourbon. I like a little more body to it. it does not have that silky creamy thing goin on. Im going to have another just to make sure.

Had a marathon of watching "The Strain" yesterday and a marathon of excellent bourbons. CETHBP, WTRB, EC12, and 4RSBLe12.

Did a sampling of the 3 most recent BT picks released in KC.

I was pleasantly surprised how different they were. At $22-25 a pop I'm going to load up on a few more.

Finished the evening with ECBP, which never disappoints.

It's not because it's a wheater, it's because you're drinking the thinnest one out of the Weller line. You see a lot of people here talk positively about Weller 12 and OWA. It's very hard to find positive comments about WSR unless it's a dusty.

It's very hard to find positive comments about WSR unless it's a dusty.

I'll start :grin:. While I've never bought a standard bottle, I've had 5 or 6 very good private selections. Everyone's tastes are different, but they worked for me.

Hanging with a pour of David Nicholson 1843 BiB. I grabbed a bottle on sale for $15 at a supermarket in St. Louis last week. I had never tried it before. To my palate, it tastes like a half-hearted J.W. Dant with a nose slightly reminiscent of WT101. Since I love me some J.W. Dant, you can figure my thoughts on the bourbon. It's okay and not particularly inspiring.

As Luxco products go, I'm much more fond of Old Ezra 101, and I wish I could get it around here--haven't seen it in months.

Regardless, I might follow up 1843 with a pour of EC12 and/or BT.
