I'll start . While I've never bought a standard bottle, I've had 5 or 6 very good private selections. Everyone's tastes are different, but they worked for me.

Haha! Yours is the first I've seen! Well, there's nothing like a private selection to being out the best in something.

A virtually perfect Buffalo Trace: rich, sweet, complex, soft, everything a bourbon "should" be but only rarely is. Litre bottle from a duty-free.

The wife turned 30 today...waiting for her to get home to take her to dinner. Having THH, while it might be young I still am baffled why it gets so much hate compared to the other BTACs.

Its a solid sipper and I'll glady purchase more at the $60-70 price range.

Nice Gary. Your post makes me wish I'd had some BT instead of "something else" when I got home from work today.

Cheers! Joe

Sticking with the ETL Comm again. It's just working for me.

Although, reading the above posts, I'm leaning toward some CEHTBP...

A couple of 10-year old bourbons tonight. EWSB2004 Store Select and RRSmB. Fairly similar, but I prefer the EWSB.

Joining in on your 10-year old bourbon track! A private select of Eagle Rare 10 yr from One Stop Wine and Spirits in Johnson City, TN. A solid selection that is Chock-ful-O that BT #1 Earthi-goodi-ness that can absolutely shine when Right. This is Right. IMO, the BT #1 has such a gorgeous profile when it is at its fresh dirt, chewy, forest floor, max.

Here's a coincidence! I'm pouring BT store select from the same retailer.

finally off the antibiotics, and about to enjoy my first pour in almost two weeks. think I'll ease into it with a low proof (for me) Ezra 101.

something i cant explain...the profile I disliked so strongly about ECBP i also find it in spades in Baker's, which is a completely different producer, different proof, and different age, yet something there just gives me flashback. They're both going onto the 'buy only as a last resort' list

Wow.....I find those two very, very different. Just goes to show you how palates can be so different.

WTRR 10y is my favorite as of right now, Ill have to have one. Is the WTRRSMSB (damn that's a mouthful) like the 10 year but on steroids?

The single barrel is NAS and allegedly around 8 years old.

Agreed. I could sip on ECBP all day long and be a happy man. The only way I can get through Baker's is with a lot of diet coke.
