Willett Pot Still Single Barrel Reserve 8-10 Yr. Old :D Light, very smooth, goes down really easy.

Trying Old Grand Dad 114 for the first time this evening based almost entirely on positive posts here on SB. The first sip hit pretty hard, but I'm starting to see the attraction - certainly a value pour. I had to really seek this out, most of my usual stores stock the regular 80/86 proof stuff.

I've been enjoying this amazingly good OWA private barrel from Gasbaro's liquors in Seekonk, MA. It is so much better than any other OWA I've had. And at $20 I've bought 1 - 12 bottle case plus a few extras. If I could drink only one bourbon forever this would be it. In fact I'd take an open bottle of this over an open bottle of PVW 12 - it's that good.

A Stagg Jr Old-Fashioned again tonight. Another Wednesday night code release, so I may have to limit myself to one, but it's a great way to enjoy Stagg Jr.

How'd this turn out? 40-Stagg Jr 60-OC8?

It's closer to 60 Stagg Jr, 40 OC8. If I was mixing BT into the Jr, I might go 60 on the BT. The OC8 at 80 proof brings down the Jr. far enough at the 40% ratio while keeping plenty of punch and spice present. It's really become a nice pour that I keep going back to.

Started the evening off with a Glenlivet 18 year (gotta drink through my stock before we move), then cleansed the palette with some 4RSmB before bed. This week we broke records for the most consecutive days under -20 degrees celsius, that's like -6000 fahrenheit. Weirdest thing, the colder it has gotten, the faster I have had to restock. It's cheaper than running the furnace! :D

At a conference in SC and hung out at the hotel bar and got some pours for free on the company tab. I tried some Angel's Envy and wasn't impressed. So I shifted to KC. The hotel bar's best offerings are KC and MM.

Yea, snow day so before going out and shoveling snow fixed breakfast for Mrs TT. Eggs, bacon, sausage, grits and of course some OGD114 in me coffee.

Took me two hours to clean off the steps, walk, and driveway but sipping on some OGD114 now by the fire and all is good.

That is some good livin' right there TT. I think I'll crack open a fresh OGD114 just because.

Some of my rapidly draining 4R 2013 SBLE. Getting some beautiful chocolate notes in the waning pours from this bottle. I have noticed an increase in the spice/chocolate layers and the wood notes have receded as I have gone through this bottle, a progression I appreciate very much as I don't care for too much wood character. This is a stellar barrel and great example of the OBSK recipe.

Yea, snow day so before going out and shoveling snow...Took me two hours to clean off the steps, walk, and driveway but sipping on some OGD114 now by the fire and all is good.

Luckily, I'm in Chicago this week, and avoided any shoveling... But, in the great get-even, I had to sweep 5" of overnight snow from my rental car this morning without a brush/scraper. :hot: But, in sure Southern Can-do fashion, swept it off with a pine tree branch...:D.

BTW, y'all Yankees would get a good hoot from watchin' us shovel our driveways by...any means available...And snow shovels ain't those means! In my neighborhood, a snowy day brings out the pointed blade digging shovels, trowels, the kids plastic play shovel, spatulas...frisbees, whatever. All are fair game, and used on a regular basis!

Waiting at ORD Delta Sky Club for my Delayed Due To Weather flight back home with a couple of Jack Daniel's. Decent enough whiskey, and free, so all ain't bad...

Free whiskey almost always tastes better.

As for here, no drinking for a couple of days, had a tooth implant pulled this afternoon. Failed after about a year and a half. Bad luck on my part.

For a couple of days I get to live vicariously through the rest of you.

Happy pouring!

side-by-sides of HH6BIB and regular KC. I find them on par with each other, I just drink lots more HH 'cause its 1/3 the cost for equal enjoyment

Had about half a handle of OWA, and recently came across 3 liter bottles of W12, so I sacrificed one to mix up a batch of SB Blend. Having a short pour now, and will let the rest merge for a few days. Has a great nose, and tastes pretty good already. The W12 was one of those bottles that resembles motor oil.

Kids got to sled today. I got to ride around on my tractor and scrape all the neighbors' driveways. They got a kick out of my mini mason jar full of EWbib.

Larceny and and a hot fire now. Life ain't too bad.

ECBP Batch 7, nice pour with a spoonful of water tonight. Great batch. I've had it neat, mixed with a private selection Henry McKenna 100, and with a little water. Been too long since I've had a bottle of this.
