did a sazerac night.... blanton's, CEHTJ single barrel and small batch, weller12 and a SB Blend, just to try it out... not a bad combo. I love me some w12, but not a huge fan of OWA actually, but the SB blend was a pretty good drink.

Poured some batch 7 ecbp, w12, lot b, Russell reserve sb from k&l, pewter wtks. That ecbp is a monster, in glad I had a friend that's holding 2 more bottles for me.

Had dickel no 12 (I know its not bourbon) last night. I was intrigued by the flintstones vitamin taste everyone talks about (didn't believe it). But sure as shit there is a chalky flintstone thing goin on.

Opened a "dusty" bottle of ER 10/101 last night. This stuff continues to rank among my very favorites and really hit the spot. My brother finds it slightly too astringent, for lack of a better word, but I think he's missing out on the dark cherries and other wonderful flavors lurking within. I only wish I could get my hands on more!

Attended the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ festival in Atlanta with some fellow GBSers, and enjoyed several pours. I think what stood out for me was the Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish, but enjoyed many different pours from Blantons to AE to EC12 to EWSB to FRSB to . . . More importantly, had a lot of fun with friends and made it all home safe (at least assuming Jimmy makes it home walking through the construction zone!)

It's a weird one, for sure. Legally they could label it bourbon if they wanted to.

A friend picked me up a fresh HMBIB, out the door price of $27. HH continues to hit it out of the park with great bourbons at great prices. Enjoying 2 fingers right now.

In preparation for the installation of our new floors I had to move the contents of my bar into the office, leaving the decanted SB blend closest to me. It's been marinating since August and is tasting quite lovely next to the fire on this chilly evening.

Finally getting a chance to try this one: Elijah Craig 12 Yr. Old Barrel Proof (Batch 6) (140.2 Proof). Very very nice, smooth, high octane for sure.:lol:

Enjoying a bottle of John J Bowman single barrel. It has strong fruit and butterscotch flavors with zero burn - its my new favorite since its impossible to find pappy anymore

2009 OFBB. Not quite my favorite year at the moment, but still big, bold and enjoyable (particularly with a little nectar).

Was at my sons place where I had a pour of a 2013 lot b van winkle, maybe my palate was messed up from first drinking some Japanese single malt but I was not impressed.

Home now trying some WT101 for the first time, much better!

Simple Saturday night. Started with Crown ER10, then HW DR, finished with WTRB 112.8. Small pours of each. The winner tonight was ER10.

Eagle Rare 17 from 2011. Had not had this in a long while and the last time I tried it my palate was shot so I only tasted wood tannins and it was horrible. I've been surprisingly finding myself enjoying ER10 much more than usual so I decided to revisit the 17 and see how it stacked up. The usual ER notes are there just smoothed out more and deeper. The extra age is present, but with the palate acting properly, it's mild and adds a pleasant complexity. It's a beautiful pour that I would happily buy when the opportunity arises but I won't drive all over town for days on end trying to get one.

Last pour from my last bottle of FRSmBLE 2014. And good to the last drop. That telling floral FR note on the palate. And that long spicy finish. Mr. Rutledge is truly a bourbon savant.

I've been working on a absolutely flawless LB select, HM BIB. This baby could pass for a 4R OESV, but may be even better balanced.
