the in-laws took us out tonight to my wifes favorite place for dinner for her b-day, and I had a WT101 neat. Not the best nose, but hits all the other notes well enough.

at home now having a small Bakers before crashing.

Binny's select Four Roses OESK 122.6 proof.

I like it more and more each time I open it but I'll be damned if I can pick out (describe) any flavors besides sweet & spicy.

Let me guess, Red Lobster?

Heavy night. Second day of Lost Prophet with a chaser of JPS 17.

LP was a little more in tune with JPS 18 with its extra year compared to the 17.

There are similarities. Just saying.

Finished off a bottle of Makers 46. Last pour was quite nice. Debating if this is good enough to be a standard. Weller 12 is my goto wheater, but of course it's limited these days so I need an alternative for the day to day. Larceny isn't sold in these parts so I need to order some in to see if it fits the bill. If it doesn't, the 46 might be the choice.

Following up with the ever reliable OGD BIB.

A rare week night at a bar last night, and they had a decent if unspectacular selection - a "usual suspects" lineup of KC, Bookers, JD, Bakers, BH, MM, JB, WR . . . and a Breaking and Entering. Thought the last one was an anomaly, but it was on their whiskey menu and everything. Ordered one, a very generous pour neat for $7.50. A little sweeter than I remembered from when I last had this more than a year ago, but pretty good balance, nice mouth feel. It was a winner.

Did a side by side of blantons, blantons gold, etl, and sftb. As much as these have been applauded, they just don't measure up to the w12 I had after them.

Having some OBSV AWS pick. This one is just singing right now. Hitting all the right notes. Whoever picked this one sure knew what they were doing.

Having a pour of Blanton's. First time I've had it in years, and the first time I've actually bought a bottle.

Creamy, mellow, inoffensive. I can see why it's popular with the masses.

4R Smb and the last of my now dearly departed 4R GS OBSO as good as and in most cases better than anything I have ever had.

Last night the annual office Winter Party was held at the legendary Crocodile where bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam played in their early days. The whiskey selection was not legendary, but was solidly stocked with the basics so I enjoyed a BT and a WT101 on the office's tab. Fun night.

Tried the Jim Beam BIB fior the first time. Underwhelmed. See the JB BIB thread for my thoughts.

4RYL at the moment. Going to head to the liquor store shortly to see if they have restocked the WLW12.
