JPS 21 batch 1. This has been a great bottle, for an older bourbon.

I had one of these (not batch one) that I enjoyed quite a bit. Didn't think it was worth the price to replace it (if I had been able to find another) but I'm glad I had the one for the experience.

More snow falling down, office is closed again tomorrow (along with the MBTA public transit system, though roads aren't too bad if you have good tires), much snow and ice removed from the walkways and roof (we have a plow guy for our driveway, worth every penny), and as a reward to myself, a good shot of OGD114 in my hot chocolate.

Ordinarily I'd heat milk and cocoa powder and sugar on the stove, but seeing as the new cooktop isn't hooked up yet, even Swiss Miss is mightily improved by a shot of bourbon.

Heck of a winter you guys are having. I haven't experienced a snow season like that since I moved here from Ohio. Something comforting about a snow day when your only responsibility is the shoveling of snow and your reward is bourbon in its many forms of enjoyment.

On topic, I'm enjoying two pours of HH BIB 6. I usually mix it up, but there was only one pour left and I needed the shelf space.

The last pour of a CEHT Tornado tonight. IMHO, BT needs to stop the Experimental Collection nonsense and concentrate on trying to duplicate the Tornado.

Retractable roof rickhouses?

I'm currently proving by example that WTKS, while good, continues to be the thinner, less complex and more expensive little brother of RB.

Lost Prophet. Dang tasty. Seriously, I'll admit it, I'm a old bourbon fanatic. I could drink this every day and not get tired of it.

That's one of the features of Warehouse X. (Seriously)

Finished off my last batch of the SB blend. After initial success and enjoyment, I started to enjoy it less at the popular ratio of 60:40 in favor of OWA. I gradually adjusted it to 50:50, then 40:60 and finally 30:70. I just prefer the Weller 12 profile. Recent tastes of Weller 12 confirmed to me that I enjoy it better as is over the blend so for now I won't mix another. I'm going to try to enjoy the OWA107 as is to see if can find in it what others here enjoy.

Now drinking some 4R SB. I realize this is a high rye mashbill recipe, but this is coming off as a rye to me tonight. Might be because I preceded it with a wheater, might be some single barrel variation.

A black coffee while wondering why additional " What are you drinking?" threads keep getting started...

Merged the 5:00 Somewhere thread into the seasonal bourbon thread.

While there is no limit in life to the possible hypothetical drinking situations, we prefer to keep them under one thread on SB for the sake of continuity.

Oh, the Aussies are the exception due to the seasonal differences.

So if I'm in South America or Africa, should I post in the Aussie thread?

Sure, Tony. The large Aussie contingent on SB is very welcoming so I bet they wouldn't mind at all.

As a part of my work, I have to attend charity benefit dinners from time to time. Inevitably, whether it is a hosted or no-host bar, the bourbon is JBW or, if i am lucky, WT101.

For some time I have contemplated bringing my own bourbon, since I would rather drink something other than JBW or WT101.

I finally put the plan into action this Saturday, bringing a 200 that I filled with HH6BIB to the dinner. I got tumblers full of ice from the bar and poured my own. It worked great, since I enjoyed the event far more since I was drinking a bourbon that I really like. The only mistake was leaving the empty bottle on the table when I departed, but that is only because I wanted to reuse the bottle. (I don't like metal flasks since I think they flavor the contents and since I can't see inside to tell if they are clean or not.)

I know some women who bring their own tequila to parties, since they think tequila is more compatible with a carb-free diet than grain-based liquors. Now I am "one of them."

Starting a little early today with some ECBP Devil's Proof.

Got a long night ahead with a software release, so wanted to get one in early
