Tonight at pub trivia I made the bartender break the seal on a new bottle of Bakers. I didn't mind it at all, certainly one of the better Beam pours I have had in a while.

Came home and poured a night cap of FRSmB, which never lets me down when I just want a sip while I ready myself for the week ahead.

Took the last drops out of a bottle of FRSB OBSK while watching the Spartans down the Illini. Fortunately had a new OBSQ to take its place to celebrate the win.

More snow and ice removal (temps above freezing for the first time in weeks helped..), and more OGD114 to unwind with afterwards.

I actually don't mind the style of this year's Oscars telecast.

Had a few pours of Bookers at the hotel bar in Grapevine TX this evening. In town through Thursday but tied into meetings and dinners. Hoping to skip out and see what I can find locally

Weller 12 followed by ER10. Had a taste for the mellow side of bourbon this evening and when I'm in that mood, these two are as about as good as it gets.

I was also watching TWD instead of the Oscars, but chose to go with a little BT and some SAOS10.

You got here just in time for the ice. And you probably thought you'd escape it leaving MA...

We just got past the ice in NC knew what in was heading into here so I came a day early to be sure I got in.

I lived in Flower Mound for 7 years so I'm familiar with what ice does to the dfw area and I can see it hasn't changed much

Did you change your location from MA to NC or did I get that all wrong? But, yea, the city is shut down today.

Found a few decent pours in Vegas this weekend....OFBB, WFE 9yr from Pacific Edge and VWFRR although the prices were insane as I expected.

I opened my recently purchased Stagg Jr (Batch #3) when I got home from work today, and had myself a nice pour. I think I just might have to have another pour when I finish my first one. :yum: I also think I might have to go buy another bottle. :skep:

Cheers! Joe

Road trip with a great group of guys this weekend, 5 of us total, we all brought at least two bottles of whiskey. Over a long weekend I had CEHT Old Fashioned Sour Mash (the rarity of the bunch), RRSmBSB, Larceny, 4RSmBLE 14, PHC 8, 4R SB, OGDBIB, CEHT SB and a little bit of Jameson's for good measure.

Rebel Reserve and still not too impressed. I'm not a mixer guy but I might keep it on hand for those that are. Second pour.. OWA. Now I'm happy!

I didnt plan to open the SAOS 7 year BP rye for some time, but curiosity got the better of me and I popped it open today for a taste. upon entry, I didnt get the rye/pine/mint punch in the face that I expected of a 120 proof rye (dickel and bulleit ryes are my only MGP rye basis of comparison, and far lower in proof), but rather a rye-bourbon taste, with a lingering aftertaste that left you well aware it was a rye. Still more of a bourbon fan than a rye fan, Id have to say it was the best rye to date Ive had. Grateful for a BP rye option with age though, thanks SAOS!

OESF, 10 years 8 months. This barrel pick isn't an all-star like all of the other barrel picks I have had, but it is still good.

EW BIB followed by HMcK 10 BIB. Need to get on the road to find a case of the McKenna.

Which barrel # of the McKenna did you have?
