Richnimrod
Had a BIG pour of Booker's to ward off a cold I've been fighting for a long time. Didn't help directly; but the side effects of the Booker's are much better than the side-effects of the cold medicine, eh? HA!
Spur9
Hirsch SB Reserve. Had no illusions that this was a rockstar. But my 2015 rule is to once a week buy something that I've never tried. Only way to stumble upon a possible new gem and friends will love getting "almost" full bottles for free if I fail. This bottle has been set aside for friends. Waste of my money, but I will trudge forward on my search.
Music City
Had a nice store selection OBSV aged 8 year 9 months last night. A very good pour.
GaryT
Not technically a bourbon, but enjoying a nice pour of what I would describe as a Franken-bourye that came out of my 5L barrel's first fill attempt. 4.5 months of additional aging of a mingle that included young bourbon, young rye (both 2 yrs), some wheater (current OF 1849), and several typical rye bourbons (Bookers, EW BIB, OGD 114, Stagg Jr, VOB BIB 6yr, and HH BIB 6yr) - along with some others (Noah's Mill, Ezra Brooks 101). While the youth is still clearly evident, the barrel aging I think helped integrate the various pieces nicely and gave it a bit of a bite. Honestly, better than I expected for the first fill experiment, especially considering that at least half of the components were bottles I wouldn't have enjoyed this much on their own. The entry proof based on what went in was 107, but no idea what the end result is (guessing it is about the same).
El Vino
Forged Oak. My second sitting and my first with a clear head. I do agree with the suggestion that a filter has done its work here. I continue to get a fairly simple nose of barrel notes and spice. The palate is mildly sweet, with mild fruit and a strong spice element. The spice lingers in the finish. Its interesting, just not worth the freight. I looked hard for this, so I am a bit disappointed.
fishnbowljoe
Very Rare Old Heaven Hill, 8 yr old, 86 proof. Sigh…..
MTNBourbon
WLW12, seems a little thicker than most bourbons, a little sweeter too.
smokinjoe
Hit on some Centennial on Saturday, which reminded me that I haven't whipped up an SB Blend in a while. 60:40 OWA/W12. Like it better at 70:30, or more. It's OK at 60:40, but the sootiness of the W12 shone through too much, and reminded why I just can't get my love on for that label. It does well in an SB Blend though, to give that age to the vatting.

El Vino
Followed the Forged Oak with a pour of FR PS OBSF from Specs in TX. Not a fair fight: 63 proof vs 45.25 proof and 10Y 8MO vs. 15Y. Picked the higher rye recipe F strain for the rye spice I taste in the Forged Oak. The depth and richness of the Four Roses just blows the Forged Oak out of the water. I'll take one and a half bottles of the FR private selections over the Forged Oak any day.
jonhalter
Bought a family size WT101 today and opened it up. I still prefer the taste of WTRB but for the money there is nothing wrong with this pour. Also just bought my dad and I tix to see Bob Dylan, so that is my background music. Ive got to brush up a little (Im in my early 30's so its not in my usual wheelhouse). Quite complementary to the bourbon.

agrant77
Some EC12 followed up by my first tasting of OGD114. Think the latter may require a little more air time next time I have a pour.
Quintilian
Another night of a pour of Weller12 followed by a pour of EC12. A smart accompaniment to listening to the new album James McMurtry album, Complicated Game.

Didn't help directly; but the side effects of the Booker's are much better than the side-effects of the cold medicine, eh? HA!This is how I also roll, so I salute your effort. Last time I had a cold, I burned through half a bottle of OF Sig before I started to clear up.On topic, started the night with some RHF and am capping it off with my vatting of Stagg Jr batch 1 and OC8. I do love that BT mash #1.
