Had two pours of Noah's Mill last night. I am trying to finish the bottle so I can open something else, but the Noah's Mill is really nice stuff in my opinion. Taking a break from the Blanton's SFTB that has otherwise dominated recent sessions.

Waiting at ORD Delta Sky Club for my Delayed Due To Weather flight back home with a couple of Jack Daniel's. Decent enough whiskey, and free, so all ain't bad...

Free is our favorite price!! On my recent trip to China, my only option on the plane was Woodford, and at the hotel in Shanghai, JBW. It was free, and it worked for me.

Tonight, started with some OF Single Barrel which just showed up at the local bar. First time trying it, thought it was pretty good.

At home, still working on my vatting of Stagg Jr. batch 1 and OC 8. Probably have 1 pour left.

Scotch? Oh well. You're still one of my idols Will.

Once again I'm having a pour of my beloved 07 WLW with my morning coffee. Sadly, the end is nearing for this bottle.:frown: The last pour should be mighty chewy though. The char in the bottom of the bottle is something to behold.

I'm doing an interesting side-by-side tonight, W12 and BTEC Wheated (floor #5). The BTEC is definitely a better quality bourbon. They both have that great caramel taste, but the BTEC is much smoother and with more flavor, and no burn at the end. I know these are cherry picked barrels, but they did a good job picking them. Very good.

Picked up some 4R single barrel (not ss) and a bottle of KC today. Decided to open the 4R and have a pour. Very sweet, maple, light cinnamon. Wish I knew these enough to say - Oh this is XXXX.

SAOS 10 with the final big pour.

Those "final big pours" are often the best from the bottle!

A pour from a great bottle like SAOS 10 is even better!

XXXX is four letters. Let's just use another four letter word to describe it...GOOD!

Tonight is a solo pour night. Not a single pour but a few pours from the same bottle. I am drinking the new WTRB. It is a decent bourbon, but not one of my favorites, among the basic solid bourbon pours (e.g., WL12, ER10, EC12, Larceny, etc.). I think I am just as happy with WT101. However, all bourbon is good (except Willett Pot Still, Ten High, and JBW) so I am still getting enjoyment and good value (I paid $28 for the bottle) out of it.

I enjoy it more with WTR101 mixed in but I want to conserve what WTR101 I have left since several friends enjoy it when they visit and I also love it by itself.

Going with one of my ND OGDBiB minsi I found a while back. Bottled 84... Same year I was born.

The ND stuff is pretty special

met Mrs Fox and a bunch of friends at a hole-in-the-wall / melting-pot / hipster bar for bar food and drinks. I was surprised to see OGD114 on the bar, and ordered a neat pour of it. They said "$5", so I had another one shortly afterward. I dont recall ever seeing OGD114 on a bar or restaurant shelf before, and at that price I was all over it. The selection was pretty sparse, making it an even bigger surprise.

Had the final pour of the Stagg Jr. batch 1 vatted with the OC8. There wasn't enough Stagg Jr. left in the bottle to get the right proportion with the OC8 so I dropped a bit of batch 3 in there to balance it out. Boy what a difference. Now to be clear, I had found a good mixture of batch 1 and OC8 such that I legitimately enjoyed it. Good oak notes were present, not bitter, not hot, classic BT mashbill #1 sweet notes present. It was good. But with some batch 3 in the mix? Even better. Fuller, rounder, more balance. I am really looking forward to this combo with batch 3 now.
