smokinjoe
Smoke Rise Bottle Shoppe PS OWA. Massive thick caramel and burnt sugar as in the best of what a superb OWA delivers. I'm no Weller Whore ( That's the "other" Joe ), but the OWA just keeps delivering spectacular flavor and quality, be it standard release or private selection. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, BT hasn't missed a beat with OWA since going to NAS...not even a half-beat...
fozzy71
Two James Grass Widow and Diet Vernor's mixed 1:3 makes this TJGW tolerable. It is the fruitiest and most expensive bottle I have had so far and I will be happy when it is gone.
Paddy
Working down near the end of a KC 750. When in the mood for Beam, this is a really good balanced pour (funk, peanuts and all:grin:) with a nice silky mouthfeel and decent spice kick.

Crowes
Tonight was a pretty epic tasting at a friends house. Here's the list:2014 ORVW 10Makers Mark Cask StrengthParkers Heritage 1st EditionOWA private selectionMichters 10yrVOB BIB from 92Old Charter 12yrand the star of the night - IW Harper, distilled in 1937, Bottled in 1943The Harper was absolutely knock your socks off good. One of the best bourbons I've ever had. Rich butterscotch, nice tannic oak, tasted like it was twice its age. Unbelievable. The Parkers was incredible as well. Not too far removed from ECBP, but incredibly well integrated. Huge deep notes of caramel, maple and brown sugar, with just enough spice to balance out the sticky sweetness. I was very impressed with last years ORVW. OWA is my favorite everyday pour so this is always right up my alley. Very well balanced with oak and leather rounding out the burnt sugar notes. What at a night. Cheers!
flahute
^^^^^Wow.......Crowes, that's a heck of a Tuesday night. I hope you have tomorrow off.I started with OF1870. This is not my favorite pour, but I could tell my palate was having an off night as it tasted extra blah and a little bitter. So as a quick test to verify, a small pour of EC12. Yep - an off night for sure. What to do? ODGBIB. It's bad palate night proof. Tasting great as always.
JDSmith619
Last night was a real treat. Buddy gave me a sample of 1976 SW Old Fitz...yeah, there's a reason people pay top dollar for this stuff. I savored it for over an hour.

Kalessin
A little OGD 114 is good for sore muscles after hauling boxes and stuff down to the basement. The kitchen renovation is just finished -- DONE, hooray!! -- and the movers brought in the last of the storage unit contents on Sunday (not paying for a storage unit means I can have a bourbon budget again), and we need to clear the decks to host a family gathering on Mothers' Day...I haven't unpacked everything into the cabinet bar yet, that's tonight's project. meadeweber
Had the first pour from my bottle of Bookers 2015-01 "Big Man, Small Batch" with a little water added. Distinctively Beam. I quite enjoyed it. 2015-02s are on the shelves as well. Will have to pick one up to do a SbS.
