Jazz Nut
A small pour of EWSB 2004 Store Pick (Ken and Norm's S. Minneapolis), and comparing it to the 2005, it's much more aromatic, oaky, and powerful. I may have to go back and see if they have more!
flahute
Last night after starting with EWBIB (and getting some marvelous flavors at the end of the pour) I decided to up the ante on how good HH whiskey can be and poured a hefty PH POH and was once again thoroughly impressed with how good a 10 yr old bourbon can be. Tonight, I'm staying with HH but going with "regularly available" EC12. Marvelous. It's still amazing to me that just a few weeks ago I was quite sure I didn't like EC12 and here I am now with only a couple pours left in my bottle. Hmmmm.......what else should I revisit now? Hmmmm.......what else should I revisit now?I think I'm due for a revisit on EC12 as well. I thought the oak influence was bothering me previously, but now I'm wondering if its not actually a misunderstanding between me and HH's menthol characteristic, which I've finally wrapped my head around in other releases. Also, I totally miss Doug chiming in and defending our mutual love of <10yo HH. I wonder where that guy is. Hope he's OK.

Paul W
Enjoying my first pour of Old Forester Signature in years. A little hot up front, but after it calms down a bit, a really nice version of the OF flavor profile shines through. Another great $25ish bottle.I have to agree with you on this 100%. OFSig is, in my opinion, a very good bourbon without consideration of price, and the low price only makes it that much more appealing. Every time I pour it I am again impressed.I have some early 60s bonded OF and while it is very very good, I can't really say it is better than new OFSig. That is not something I can say about any of the other dusty versions of current offerings that I have on hand.
kcgumbohead
Some 4R OESQ. I will be on the 4R rain for some time yet as I seek to empty opens before cracking any newbies which is just fine by me as I am really enjoying this trip!!

dcbt
Lately I've been working my way through an SB Blend I vatted up last August. One more pour to go. I'm in another purge mode, finishing off bottles that are in range one at a time.

Enoch
Hoping that the Gamecocks have a prayer by sweeping LSU this weekend, I'm drinking my customary shot of Fighting Cock 8 year in a Fighting Cock glass. smokinjoe
Now moving on to a Ledgers Liquors/East Bay Study Group Barrel #4 OBSK. I've nursed this puppy for nearly 6 years now, and it is as great as I remember. There are times when a whiskey hits me "Right", and times when the same whiskey misses my sweet spot. This one has been way more the former. Tonight is no exception. I plan to keep being judicious in my sampling from this bottle to try and keep it available as a baseline for OBSK picks into the future, and I expect it will hold up for several more years. What a great pick by EBSG.
