So, what do ya think? What are the differences? One over the other?

Hadn't tasted either when I posted the pic. Still sipping on the first jigger of each and enjoying both. The FC reminds me of EEC12, a lot smoky/oak notes in it. The OFS is fairly similar but not quite as smoky. I am not sure which I like more yet but I am enjoying both as I sip from one to the other. I imagine I will buy more of each when I see them on the shelf next.

Cool, thanks. I've never had the FC, but to me OFS is very good especially for the price.

Thought this one had less in the bottle than it did. Oh well

Attaboy Bing!

About the same sized pour of Hancock's is working for me!

Side by side of 2 freshly opened bottles (never had either of these yet) to get my shelf of open bottles more weighted bourbon > rye.

Now you're in my wheelhouse.

Hoping that the Gamecocks have a prayer by sweeping LSU this weekend, I'm drinking my customary shot of Fighting Cock 8 year in a Fighting Cock glass. They need all the luck they can get.

It worked.....after being down 6 to 1, Carolina comes back and wins 10 to 7. Now going to toast with Pappy 20.

Now moving on to a Ledgers Liquors/East Bay Study Group Barrel #4 OBSK. I've nursed this puppy for nearly 6 years now, ...

Looks like you've taken the airtime pledge Joe .

Started the night with a couple local IPAs and finished with some ETL and a Liquor Barn Knob Creek.

I am leaning towards OFS > FC103 after a bit more of each now, but both are great for the price.

I really need to try RHF but it is a bit out of my new $30/bottle cost average limit.

Haven't tried AECS yet but you can't go wrong with ETL.

I agree RHF is a little out of my comfort zone. I bought my bottle on clearance for around $35, I couldn't pass it up

I decided to try a pour from my #lastpours 2/3 full decanter and am pleasantly surprised.

I've never met a EC12, EWSB or HMcKBIB I didn't like...

Indeed good sir! And thank you for deciding for me the next bourbon I will revisit. Henry McKenna it is. (EWSB was opened earlier this week and I'm working on it).

So invest in 3 or4 bottles of HH BIB to bend the curve down then treat yourself to some RHF.

Started last night with EC12 but it wasn't hitting the spot. Moved on to some Willetts that were much, much better.

Not available in Michigan AFAIK. I will probably do something like that eventually with some of the other bottom/mid shelf stuff I like but I have a lot in the bunker to kill off first before I buy anything new I hope.

Steve, I'd also highly recommend that you look for a PS when you get here. Some of them have been really good! Shoot me a pm when the time gets a little closer if you want to discuss further, and have a great time!!!

End of the week, finally. Weller 12 in the glass now. I have a PS OWA on deck just in case.

1792 in the new bottle. Showing a complexity (medicinal/fruity) and suave richness I've not tasted before in this bourbon. As good as it gets.

An interesting mingle of Parker's Wheat and Stagg Jr with a splash of 7yr Willet. All three of these were underwhelming but the mingle is really nice with a warm cherry pie thing I'm really digging. This may be my pour for the night.

That sounds pretty good! I've got some PHC Wheat mingles waiting for a test drive.

For tonight though, toasting my brother-in-law's birthday with some WLW because . . . well, that sounded better than "it's Friday - break out the WLW!"

Yeah it was so good I made a bigger batch.
