I wasn't going to have anything but since it is #worldwhiskyday I am having an EC12 with a half an ice ball. I wish I could make them break in half all the time as the full balls I used last night made the end of the drinks a bit too watery for me.

decided to do an OBSK comparo

put on my tasting hat

lined them up

Binny's recently selected barrel almost 11 yrs old, 120.6 proof

2008 LE 120th anniversary 12 yrs old 112.8 proof

2013 LE 13 yrs old, 116.2 proof

poured

my wife tasted,too

at first she preferred the Binny's, but the winner 2-0 was:

2008 LE 120th anniversary

went down to the bunker and there are 2 more unopened bottles, so I'm pretty well off til I'm about 70

edit: my son got home and did the tasting. same ranking, so it's 3-0 for the 2008 120th anniversary

Still trying to finish off this bottle: W.L. Weller 12 Yr. Old.

Do you not like it? Usually, the "trying to finish off" statement is reserved for the ones we don't care for but that we also won't throw out.

hehe, i was going to tell him he could send it to me since I have yet to see it on the shelf and its going for $50 - $70 per 750ml on the secondary market here......

OGDBIB neat now, this and WT101 might be my fave <$30 bottles

It's good, but just might not buy again if it becomes available.

Had some FRSB OBSV with the wife. I loved it and she thought it was good but prefers more of the Beam profile. Had a finish of sweetness and cherries that I didn't remember when I first opened it a few weeks ago.

Hey bigtoys, what came in 2nd and 3rd for you guys?

I use to have that issue myself. So I ordered a 10 Ice Ball Tray on eBay. The ball they make are 1" in diameter. They are perfect.

At this time of year, just put the bottle in the fridge. Even better, OGD fresh from the freezer makes a great slushy. No water and no worries.

Great weekend with lots accomplished. Now, Joeytime on the front patio with a fatass Oliva V and a glass of HH 6 yr BIB from the fridge. Great closure to the weekend. Bring on the new week!

Moving forward in my endeavor to drink down a bottle of Hancock's that spent waaaay too long, forgotten in the bunker. Thankfully, it seems to be forgiving of my tardiness.
