Beam Signature Craft 12 yr. It has finally transitioned from being thoroughly unenjoyable to palatable (with temporary moments of enjoyment).

I saw a bottle of this at my corner store earlier tonight.....

Had an OFSig along side some ribs. First time the heat (not much) and tomato/acid didn't conflict with the bourbon. Excellent combo.

In hindsight, I think it was $40 which puts it out of my self imposed $30/bottle cap in an effort to get my monthly/average costs down.

I got an OFS on deck I have been meaning to try, just so many on deck and bunkered it hasn't happened yet.

A small pour of EWSB 2005, I enjoy it, but not too spicy, so some may consider this a bit bland. I like it with a drop of water. Following that up with ECBP Hazmat with a splash of water.

SAOS 10 year

Im about 1/2 way through this bottle. Wanted to give it some time before I gave my thoughts on it. When I first bought the bottle I wasn't to happy with the the price tag $50.00.

I am am really enjoying this pour. I would say it' starts as a buttery oak followed by nice sweetness with a slight cinnoman spice ending.

I have to try the 7 year old see how it stacks up. May be a better value.

Cheers

MMCS, batch 14-2. This is one of my favorites. The wheat and the full strength really hit the groove.

I was trying to work on finishing my Old Forester 1870. While it was never a favorite I had gotten to the point of where it seemed pretty decent, but after all the great whiskies I had at the Sampler, tonight it just blows :frown:

Had some more Beam Signature Craft 12yr. Have a mind to power through it now. Semi enjoyable, not great. Certainly not a repeat buy. Following up with OGDBIB and the night is redeemed. Amazing what they can do with a basic BIB. Shames the 12yr.

KC last night followed by KC SB. Mrs. F. opened a can of dark chocolate covered peanuts. The KC SB was transformed into smoked salmon--and not in a good way.

Fun day at work. :skep: All sorts of things going on today. We're getting ready for the big dog and pony show tomorrow, when we have a bunch of big wigs visiting us from corporate headquarters. :bs:

I'm having a very healthy pour of BC VSOF to celebrate the occasion.

Happy meeting, fishnbowljoe.

Tonight, I started with OWA+one ice cube which sat until the ice was gone. Then, I had a second. Then, a short JBB "Extra Aged". And so to bed after the Nats Braves game is over.

At the present time, I am sipping on a healthy pour of Pappy 15yo with a tiny splash. Dam, my bottle is now down to about 3 more health pours. I just love this stuff!!!

On to a pour of my Two James Grass Widow (TJGW?). Good stuff (quite fruity I think) but hard to justify $60/750ml even if it is a local.

Revisiting this after the spicy vatting of OGD114/RITT is quite a contrast.

This is growing on me. And this explains the fruitiness:

Grass Widow Bourbon contains a unique high rye mash bill. This delicious bourbon possesses intriguing levels of spice and complexity. The hazelnut and dried raisin notes are results of our proprietary Madeira Barrique finishing.
