Dear Diary,

I passed on:

JB BiB (already well stocked and happy with my with KCSB and Bookers, so just can't get motivated to buy more Beam)

IWH NAS (not super-impressed with the IWH15 that I already have, to the NAS is out of the question)

W12 (already bunkered enough to ward off WN despite this being an object of desire for many)

Pikesville Rye 110 (sort of curious, but I may be realizing that I am not a big rye fan in the first place so I am not in a rush to get more)

SAOS Rye, regular and cask (have enough bunkered to ward off WN despite this being kind of discontinued)

2014 BTAC Handy, Saz18 and ER17 at $499 (hoping these will still be sitting there when the 2015 releases come out just to see what the store owner will do)

ETL at $39.99 (have enough bunkered to ward off WN despite constant drumbeat of people who can't find it and want to hoard it)

Blanton's (still plentiful on the shelves in my area, so my one open bottle is plenty at present)

I was sorry to see that the place that had several bottles of PHC7 still on the shelf a few months ago has been cleared out, although I was not a buyer at $139 in any event.

Booker's at $44 (really good price for my area, but I am bunkered-up already on this)

I am closer to Bourbon Zen than ever. I got a $10 off $50 coupon for BevMo, which is usually pretty compelling, but when I went to the store I realized that there is nothing I really want, much less anything I need.

These days the "entire stock" a store gets might well be just 3 bottles! I can remember it wasn't that long you had crawl past cases of the stuff just to get to the other bourbon on the shelf. Sadly those days are gone at least for now.

I went poking around a couple of stores today to see what might be interesting and found there wasn't anything so I passed on everything and bought tequila instead. :skep:

I love it! What of the agave did you get?

I keep noticing a (literally) dusty 1.75L of OGDBIB with 2005 stamped on the bottom of the bottle. I prefer OGD114 and have a couple bottles bunkered, so unless there is an overwhelming response that "those were the good old days of OGD", I will continue to pass. A while back I purchased a 1.75L of WT101 from this store that was dated 2008, if I recall, and I discovered that I actually prefer newer WT101 to the dusty bottle I found. Not that it won't be consumed...

I passed on a 2000 Evan Williams Milliennium GLobe decanter....

Must have been outside of Simpsonville SC. I left that one on the shelf

Exactly. Those coupons always get me excited then I remember it's BevMo and there's little to be had.

I can tell you tow that aren't being passed. Went back by the store to get some wine today and the single bottles of W12 and OWA I left yesterday were gone. The owner says "I don't know why I can't more of this in?"

A bottle of Chinaco blanco in the old style bottle. Nice peppery bottle that is the rare blanco I like on its own or as a mixer for Margarita's and such.

Actually was in Gray Court. That was my last stop before heading back to Duluth GA. Don't know as there are many dusties left in SC anymore....

In the Phoenix area Bevmo is usually a good bit higher in price than TW&M (5-10 per bottle), limited selection and clueless staff. Often the grocery stores will have better sale prices.

First Day in Italy. Passed on Blantons Special Reserve @ 30 euro. I may get one to try but not so early in the trip.

I find myself passing on several bottles I might have taken a shot on lately, because I know the coming weeks are likely to be pretty hard on the wallet.

Passed on stagg jr batch 4 on the tip top shelf at $70 (state min is $50). Chances are I won't see it anywhere else but I might walk down the street and ask my local corner store if he can order me a bottle since he never charges over state min. I also passed on Bookers Center Cut but only since I was already buying 2 different bottles and have 2 other/older bookers in the bunker. I may go back for it next month.

$70 is too much for Jr. I would have passed too.

My corner store put in an order for me and he never charges me over state min. Considering the limited number of distributors in our state run system I am hopeful they order from the same distributor. If so, I may end up with one Wed for my birthday. (fingerscrossed)

Even here in "Weller country", I've seen stores asking $99.00 for Weller 12. It's ridiculous!

In the past year or two, it's gotten to where we go through a couple of months when you can't find it anywhere in the DFW area.

But once it hits shelves, it hits in force, and you can usually find it for a couple of months pretty easily.

The last time it disappeared, I found one store near me that was out of 750's, but showed 12 1L bottles in their inventory.

By the time I got there, someone had come in and bought eight bottles. I took three for myself. (gotta' leave at least one for the next guy)
