Shopping for groceries I saw MM cask strength 111 proof @ $68 a 750ml and JD Sinatra @ $60.
JD Sinatra select at $60 is a steal. Unless its a typo and you meant $160

I'm pretty sure it was $60. Next time I'm there, I'll double check. This was at a grocery store, no glass case, just sitting on the shelf in a black box. I was under the impression that Sinatra Select wasn't much different than regular JD. I could be wrong. Over the years JD has come out with a number of fancy bottles.

At a liquor store I saw Rebel Yell Rye, and Rebel Yell Whiskey - a mixture of bourbon and rye. :skep:

I did not pass up a lonely bottle of Old Forester 100.

Yeah, $60 is a great deal on the JD Sinatra, relatively speaking. I've never seen it for less than $100, and usually much more than that. Of course, they're still sitting on the shelves at those prices. I tried it, thought it was very good, definitely a step above regular JD. For $160 or whatever they usually price out . . . no thanks. I'd buy one at $60 though.

EH Taylor Rye at $65. Looking back I should've picked it up.

Good price for that one. Still a bit much though.

Yeah I agree. It was the first stop of the evening and I just wasn't prepared to spend $65 right off the bat not knowing what else I may want.

How much better is it than Saz Rye? I picked up 3 bottle of those last week for an average of $25 a bottle.

It's better than Saz rye (and I really like Saz rye) but it's hard to say it's two times + as good.

I was back at the same store yesterday. The JD Sinatra has a $200 price on the shelf. The Blanton's next to it is $60. They're remodeling the store and changing stuff around. I think they had the wrong price initially.

Yep and I passed on both today CETHR @ $79.99 and mucho bottles of baby Saz @ $49.99.

I'm lucky that I really enjoy GD rye, JEP, and RITTBIB.

I'm seeing more and more ryes on the shelves, I guess it's their time to join the boom.

Not exactly bourbon, but I saw Bernheim for $59.99 today at a store with otherwise pretty sane pricing.

My local store started stocking Bernheim about 8 months ago and I was shocked at the $59.99 price tag, considering it's $29.99 everywhere else I've seen it. Maybe since wheated bourbon is all the rage (omg it's like Pappy!!!!) they assumed an actual wheat whiskey should command a higher price. Who knows.

I passed on everything the other day, even though the selection and prices were good...I think I've reached bourbon equilibrium (likely only temporarily).

I'm sorry, since my detached retina, I don't see as well as I used to....But, it looks like you wrote $202, to me...this older iPhone has a smaller screen, too. What was it really?

Passed on a 750 of Medley 12-year for $45 yesterday.

I'm thinking I may go back today and scoop it as a 'relationship' buy from my local purveyor of spirits.

Any thoughts, anybody???

lol...yeah $202.00. I asked the clerk how much and she asked me to guess. I said $169.00 and she said it's a 750ml and not the 375ml. I told her they are crazy. Went to specs and it was $199.99 (using decimals now to not confuse anyone). I'll snap pic tomorrow if I can get by there after my university's football game.

I received a text from a friend who is out of state asking if I wanted any W12 @ $50 per 750 and/or $75 per handle.

Although I appreciate the thought and offer, that's still an easy pass for me.

Sh*&, Michter's really should be celebrating if that's the going rate

That's close to MSRP. I don't know if anyone has actually bought one to drink.
