Again lots don't like it but I do so I'm enjoying Blood Oath tonight. Kind of glad others are passing on it as it means I can find more

Started off with BT and moved on to a much richer, thicker and livelier ER 10.

Revisiting MMCS after it wasn't tasting so good last weekend. Much better tonight. Palates are funny like that.

I feel like I've read about more people drinking WSR the past month and a half than I had the previous year and a half. Is it better than I remember it, or just a "make-do" when W12 and OWA isn't available?

I'm not sure how others feel, but to me it's just a good solid wheated bourbon for a really good price. I like it when I want something to drink instead of something to sip or savor. So for me it works really well over a little ice and maybe a splash of water to bring out and highlight some of the vanilla and toffee. Pretty solid drinking bourbon for a hot and humid summer night!

Had some WT101 on the rocks, which was more enjoyable this time around. Maybe I just need to add some water with this one going forward. Followed up with some RR rye, which has been very good thus far.

After passing up a shelf-full of Stagg Jr. Batch 4 last evening, I came home and had a nice pour my already open bottle of Batch 4 (I have a few in reserve already). Cut with a little water, and terrific. Now that they have sorted out this Stagg Jr. formula, it is really compelling stuff at $50.

So I am in Ireland for a couple weeks. I have tried various Irish whiskeys and they are good. They remind me of scotch. But I have no great love for them. So I broke down and bought a bottle of JD. I know I know. But the other choices here in the middle of nowhere are JBW and WT81. And frankly I like JD better if I have to drink 80 proof. I should have bought that Bookers I saw in Dublin or the Blantons in Ennis before I got all the way out here in the veldt but you live and learn. We have it good in the USA. Mmmm bananas.

I am having a VSO Fitzgerald 12 Year. I wouldn't rate it as high as the 12 year Weller, but it's a great wheater. Head and Shoulders above MM. It has a mouth watering cocoy thing going on which I really like...

I'm revisiting the new Beam BIB that I've had open for a while now. I'm still not quite sure what to make of this bourbon. It's almost "chameleon" in character to me. One time it tastes pretty good. The next time, mehhhh. It's somewhere in the middle tonight. Not good, but not bad. Drinkable to say the least. There's not too much left in this bottle. Even at a decent price here, ($17.99) I probably won't be buying another bottle.

Cheers! Joe

Starting off the evening with a 50:50 blend of WSR and OWA. And have a small pour of Rock Hill Farms waiting in the wings, this will be the first time I've tried this bourbon. May finish the evening with plenty of water and a pour of ECBP 128 proof.

tonight the kids are asleep, and the wife is away with one of our daughters. I'm enjoying the silence with a MM 46 :toast: .

Second day in a row for a short, neat pour of JB bonded. Must be something in the air.

I've been off the grid since Saturday up beyond the edge of civilization salmon fishing at Milbanke Sound in northern British Columbia. I was smart enough to bring bourbon with me and have been enjoying WTRB, KCSB, JEP 1776 rye from a flask out on the boat, and 4R SiB. 4R SiB was the star of the show. I drank nearly 2/3 of it in 5 days it was such a good bottle. One of may Canadian friends on the trip trying it for the first time liked it so much that I gave him the rest of the bottle. Back home now trying to decide what to do with 110 lbs. of salmon and 10 lbs. of halibut.

After the VSO Fitzgerald 12 I had a pour of Bakers and finished the evening with the 112.8 Proof (and awesome!!) Rare Breed. Need to decide which Bourbons to take along with me to Italy for Holiday in two days. Tough Decisions[emoji12]

I had a small pour of FC103 from the fridge last night before an early bed time. This 100 degree heat took it out of me. Couldn't sleep for crap, up every 90 minutes or so to evacuate all the water I drank yesterday. :skep:

I saw Uncle Bunk's comment about fishnbowljoe's comment and got thinking about how come I drank JB BIB the last two nights. My reaction to it isn't completely like Joe's - I've bought and consumed a couple of bottles since it came out - but I, too, can't quite categorize it.

QUESTION: Can bourbon be "homogenized"? "Bland" isn't the right word, either. Inoffensive? Sort of. It's a puzzlement.
