I have tasted it before and enjoyed it along with many pours of other things the same night. I am not one for tasting notes. While I do enjoy it I doubt I will ever replace it when gone given the price as I enjoy WTRB and RRSiB just as much or more and those are significantly cheaper up here compared to WTKS.

Wait just a second there.........you can get RR Single Barrel cheaper than WTKS?

I may have mis-remembered, thinking of the cheaper russell's. I just checked and the RRSiB and WTKS are actually state min'd at the same price. my bad. I also think I overpaid for the WTKS by about $5 because it was a store pick.

Well heck, at the same price, RRSB would seem to be the no brainer. SBS's are instructive however.

good idea. i did it once iirc, but might revisit again in a few days when I have another calorie cheat day. maintaining weight/calories is so much easier than cutting them thankfully.

Long day at work today, so when I took the wife and mother-in-law out to dinner, I had to have a couple of drinks. The bartender was nice enough to let me try a small pour of Topo Eight Oak, which is a wheat whiskey, slightly aged in oak with a toasted oak chip tossed in the bottle for a little extra taste. It was actually pretty nice. I didn't go for a full pour, but I might re-visit it soon. Instead, I went with an Old Fashioned (with MM), followed by a pour of Booker's, neat. When we got home, I poured some SAOS7 SB CS. Gonna be unhappy when this bottle is gone. I think I only have a couple of pours left. For dessert, I just poured some MM46CS. Only 1 pour left in the bottle of that as well, but fortunately I do have a bottle in reserve.

A pour of RRSiB Store Select to start the night off, it was ok. Poured WT101, and found it like catching up with an old friend. I seriously love WT101. Finishing up the evening with PHC POH, I am nearing the end of my second bottle, and it will take a bit of time to open my last bottle. I just need to find a Henry McKenna BIB honey barrel!

And to cap the night of a VERY small pour of Springbank 17 Sherrywood. I find that after bourbon, Springbank is a good way to end the evening.

Had some fozzy blend, then some OWA

I like that this name is sticking yet I still call it BT114 that someone else suggested. Seems a little pompous to call something I am drinking with my own screen name in it. I killed off my staggjr:BT blend and WTRB:WTKS:RRSiB blend. Unsure what might come for a night cap.....

Started with 4RSB because it's just so easy to do. This is fast becoming my most consumed bourbon. As much as I was tempted to stay in the 4R family, I do fear burning myself out so I switched it up considerably with a pour of IWH15. Dare I say I'm really liking this. Not saying I'm going to try to convince anyone it's worth the price, but it is a good whiskey. Figuring I may as well stay in that age range since it's tasting good tonight, a small pour of WT Diamond. Also hitting the right notes tonight (but definitely not worth the price.) I'll finish with the final pour from some WT101 8 year age stated.

Son of of a B!@$%!

I started off with a WT101, followed with a FR SmB, and was ready to finish with a WT RB 108 when disaster struck! Efforts to extract the tiny remnant of cork resulted in it promptly plopping down into the bottle with many of it's tiny cork particle friends. Fortunately one bottle of WT 112 was pretty hefty pour away from being done and dusted. After a rather large pour of 112, and a quick bottle wash, my 108 now lives on after a good double strain of cork in it's successors bottle!

Side note having a little 108 back to back with the 112 I really think I prefer the 112. A tad less smooth, but a little more of that citrus kick I love from Rare Breed and flavour for days. I love me some Rare Breed!

I was afraid of the same thing happening to my RB early on so I quickly replaced the cork with one I bought in a cork grab bag from amazon.

I am a forum whore. Working from home makes it easy. On one work related forum that I also post on when not working I have over 35k posts, on our own forum I have over 20k posts, and then there's the emails where I have sent over 40k the past <5 years.

Went back to my bottle of '13 WLW for the first time in a long time. Why did I wait so long? I guess I can answer my own question - because I want to make it last. Tasted phenomenal.

Started with 4RSB and moved on up to OBSF, a McScrooge's PS from warehouse GW, barrel 81-4F, 11 years + 1 month, bottled on 5/15/15 @ 120.4 proof.

I get Frango mint, orange peel, vanilla, freshly grated nutmeg, black pepper, and something dramatic at the end that I can't identify--but I want more of it whatever it is.

A very healthy pour of ER10 for my first pour since Sunday. After this I see bookers in my future as I flip between falcons-saints and mets-dodgers.

Stop the acronyms. I can't keep up. Head spinning even before tasting,

A stop at 'the shop' confirmed my fear... the Weller brands are all gone. Barton (my cheap pour... poor pour?) has apparently abandoned my market. Still hot here (95F), so I want something to pour over ice. Settled on Evan Williams 1792. No complaints, but not as good as the cheaper Very Old Barton, or the price-ier WL Weller Special Reserve (I live in realm of bargain whiskeys).

The 'good stuff' remains on the top shelf (literally) until temps drop twenty degrees.

doing a night of wheaters, started off with Bernheim, then 1792SW and now finishing off with W12. That 1792SW seemed to really hit the spot tonight too.

Started with a popular recent pour for me, SAOS9 SB CS (which I erroneously referred to as SAOS7 last night). Getting a really nice pipe tobacco on the nose of this one, with lots of toffee and some kind of citrusy fruit on the palate. Really going to miss this one when it's gone, which is only about two pours away. Too bad the only SAOS that I can easily get in NC is regular ole SAOS7 or 8, which I really do enjoy, but this is my first barrel proof SAOS, and it's delicious.

For pour #2, I'm going with some Stagg, Jr., Batch 4. Another good one that is down to the last pour or 2. I really should've bought another when I shockingly saw a couple on the shelf in the Durham ABC store.

I seem to spread out my pours, because I have several bottles that are getting low, most of which I do not have another of (nor easy access to). I may need to rethink my bourbon purchasing habits if I tend to drink bourbons that I have a hard time replacing. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of bourbons available that I'd be fine drinking. I just picked up quite a few in Texas and Kentucky earlier this year that I can't get here, and those are what I've been drinking. I should probably mix in more bottles that are easily obtainable so that the less obtainable ones disappear more slowly.

Just finished a Manhatten watching Atlanta play some sloppy football. Remembered I still have half a bottle of HH6yrBIB in the freezer. Nice big pour for the second half. What a treat. The pour itself comes out of the bottle almost as slowly as motor oil. The viscosity is beautiful. What awaits is the ice cream you wish they would sell at your local Kroger, a syrupy sweetness followed by a dose of oak.

It's going down fast, at this rate, I might have a 4th quarter pour as well.
