A lot to be thankful for so enjoyed a pour of '14 ER17 and '14 GTS. Doubt I will find any this year but these really are special whiskies.

WTKS before Thanksgiving dinner. It was overly sweet and one dimensional. I'm pretty sure it was me and not the bourbon. Looking forward to giving it another try tomorrow.

Each wtks will be different. Mine has more oak on the nose, has more rye spice on the palate.

Tried some Hayes Parker Reserve which I really enjoyed. I wasn't sure how I would like a bourbon not from Kentucky, but what think is a classic bourbon with slight oak and vanilla flavors present.

Had some EW Bib after a small pour of Hayes Parker Reserve to give the EW Bib another chance. I just don't seem to like it. Oh well, I tried .

p2min - welcome to SB (just in case I forgot to welcome you in FEB 2015). I love the EW Black as a mixer (or as a neat treat for persons new to bourbon), but I personally haven't found the BIB to be special. OTOH, I like the EW single barrels (even at 86 proof). What's weird is I really really like the other Heaven Hill bonded and higher proof offerings. Go figure.

Tonight, however, I have continued with the VOB bonded while watching the Bears-Packers game. I can't believe I'm still awake after all that food and starting light sips of the VOB shortly after Dallas lost and I started washing dishes.

It just seemed appropriate to have a couple of tumblers of WT101. Long time since I've had any and must admit it went down quite easily.

Noah's Mill and Stagg Jr side by side. The Mill being one of the most vanilla packed Bourbons I ever had - it has some serious heat also (think OWA) but that fades rather quickly into more vanilla and oak. The Stagg Jr is just wow, as always when I have one (Batch 3).

Black Friday means no shopping of any kind, lots of football, and cleaning up some leftovers. In the latter instance, it means the last modest pour from bottles of OGD114, 4RSB, and KC.

The past couple of days I've been enjoying Barrel Bourbon #5 and WT 101, as it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it!

This has been sitting for 3 months with the occasional swirl.

Have to say that I'm enjoying this.

Probably won't mix them again, but will try everything once!

I'm more partial to an 80:20 OWA:Weller12 with a bit of water.

Given the choice of the two straight up, I prefer the W12.

When I start blending, I've been surprised at how much W12 goes a long way...

Oh, and I'm enjoying my first ever bottle of FRSmB. Surprisingly enjoyable to me.

I just wish it were bottled at 95 or 100 proof.
