If The Wife says you're crazy', I'd go with that.    But, I too, get some of that 'peanutty' undertaste in most Beam products.    I note from only my own experience that it diminishes a little with proof and a good deal with age.

Well I compared this KCSB to "regular" KC as well as JBW and got WAAAAY more "peanut" shells with this bottle.  They were all from the same year (2012).  I actually liked it very much but the peanut thing was almost to the point of being distracting it was so distinct.  Anyway..sorry for the thread derail!  I've been trying to finish off some bottles that are left with an inch or two in them to make some room in the cabinet.

Ahhhh, emptying bottles to make room for more... A lifelong quest of biblical proportions.    You'll make some room; but never enough.     In fact 'enough room' has never been achieved by anyone I know.

But, don't let that stop you!    Have FUN!!!    Cheers!!!

And I suffer from the "if I finish that bottle then I won't have it anymore so I won't drink it so I can keep it" syndrome.

All ECBP is great, but that batch is a Beast. I have 2 more Hazmat's in the bunker! It's always good to see a fellow SB'er drinking the good stuff!

Though it did not belong to me, I finished off a bottle of Hirsch 16 last week at a bar in Chicago. It's the best dram I've ever had. May it rest in peace.

Emptied out my locker at the golf club for the season.  Got home, and killed the last three ounce pour.  A great rye over ice during a hot summer round.  In a glencairn, clean MGP rye nose, sweet (think confectioners sugar) baking spices, vanilla and some barrel notes.  Palate same as the nose with just a bit of burn from the proof.  Reminiscent of Michters Barrel Proof Rye.  I bough the shelf out a couple of years ago at a store which was off my beaten path.  In the $40 range if I can recall.  The best swing oil of the season.

Almost unbelievably, a store manager sold me a leftover hazmat ECBP  he'd been holding onto as sort of an apology because he couldn't find the four roses sm. batch LE he was supposedly holding for me.

I think I came out ahead, actually.

Finished this one last night.  I feel like I might be the only person who enjoys this juice. $30 bucks, 92p, 7 years old minimum stated, & makes a fantastic manhattan or old fashioned.  Yeah its sourced, but its good.

RIP.

I hope NOT in ONE SITTING!      That is a great deal of great whisky, for sure; and, an accomplishment for which you should be justifiably proud!   Now?    ...On to the next one, right?

Finished off a Gifted Horse tonight.  It was surprisingly enjoyable but I'm happy to clear off space on the bar.  It wasn't unique enough to warrant another purchase but I have no regrets on this bottle.

Brought one of these home with me for the holiday to enjoy with my brother. Happy to see the good reviews.

Me, too, right now.  Warehouse PN, Barrel 44-YE.  Is time to restock.  If only I had some shelf space . . .

Finished off a WTKS that I purchased about a month ago for $32.99.  That is a nice price in Indy and I really enjoyed the bottle.  I believe it was a store selection from a few years ago so I doubt I will find another much less for $32.99.
