$3,000 for a single bottle? I think it's a terrible idea. If you were already planning on making a donation to the charity in question (for $3,000), then yes, you may as well get a bottle as a bonus. Otherwise, do not expect that bottle to live up to the cost.

I'm going to have to call shenanigans on Diageo for this release. It is being advertised as a release of one of the last remaining barrels of S-W bourbon, in the form of 34 bottles being auctioned off in a single lot where you can win the entire barrel's worth of S-W bourbon. But the photos provided clearly shows Bottle #35. So now we know there are more bottles than the 34 bottles from what is being purported as the entire barrel contents.

I can't find the article currently but it was stated somewhere that there were 38 bottles and 4 of them were opened for Diageo events and tastings.

I'd pay $1000 for the piece of history if I could find a bottle ha.  Same with my theory behind John E Fitz and the latest Parker's Heritage BIB.

Yea 2 bottles were open at the Derby and two were sent to Christie's for tasting. A freind stoped in Christie's the other day and spoke with Noah, who giver her a taste of the 24. I’m told it was good.

Well what do you guys think of buying a single bottle from a guy...

I think it's a total boondoggle.  Totally sounds like someone trying to take advantage of the market to get people to spend an insane amount of money on what really could be any unknown whiskey.  I wouldn't trust this venture farther than I could throw the barrel.  This thing reeks, IMO.

And neither Pappy or Michter's is anywhere close to worth that price. That is faulty reasoning.

It's just not worth it.
