mbroo5880i
Just curious, does anyone know if they give tours at the MGPI distillery in Lawrenceburg?
cazolman
I don't think so. I have heard that they want to or plan to in the future, but have never heard any details.
Richnimrod
AFIK, the tours at LDI/MGPI are not off the drawing board, and may never be; but who knows? Never say never, right? I surmise from comments made by others, that it's a very "industrial" kind of place by comparison to ...say, Maker's Mark or Buffalo Trace, with no visitor's center that would be recognizable as such to most of the public. mbroo5880i
Yeah, I suppose they aren't really set up for it. I seem to recall that they had some event when they released Metze's Select last year. However, that might not have been at the distillery. Madhatter
If you want a little fun, take a tour of MGP with Google maps. Go to Lawrenceburg, IN on Google maps. Then, 7 Ridge Avenue. Drop the little street level guy on Ridge Avenue and take a Google walk up the street and around to the side of the property. Red brick industrial buildings, some outside tanks, a street called Shipping Street, and the Old Seagrams name on the side of a building. Try as I may, I couldn't get farther in than that, but it's fun to poke around the street view.
Phil T
I emailed them a couple years ago inquiring if a group of us enthusiasts could tour the facility. They did not respond. After a period of time, I emailed them again. Still no response .

I'm curious about their aging facilities (warehouses, locations, inventory) but I would have to find a talkative (ex)employee. I hoped satellite view with google maps would give me a clue, but no help with that. Any ideas about how to get information about their operations?
