Just curious, does anyone know if they give tours at the MGPI distillery in Lawrenceburg?

I don't think so. I have heard that they want to or plan to in the future, but have never heard any details.

AFIK, the tours at LDI/MGPI are not off the drawing board, and may never be; but who knows?   Never say never, right?   I surmise from comments made by others, that it's a very "industrial" kind of place by comparison to ...say, Maker's Mark or Buffalo Trace, with no visitor's center that would be recognizable as such to most of the public.

Yeah, I suppose they aren't really set up for it.  I seem to recall that they had some event when they released Metze's Select last year.  However, that might not have been at the distillery.

If you want a little fun, take a tour of MGP with Google maps.   Go to Lawrenceburg, IN on Google maps.  Then, 7 Ridge Avenue.  Drop the little street level guy on Ridge Avenue and take a Google walk up the street and around to the side of the property.  Red brick industrial buildings, some outside tanks, a street called Shipping Street, and the Old Seagrams name on the side of a building.  Try as I may, I couldn't get farther in than that, but it's fun to poke around the street view.

I emailed them a couple years ago inquiring if a group of us enthusiasts could tour the facility.  They did not respond. After a period of time, I emailed them again. Still no response .

Sazerac treats the details of production like huge industrial secrets.  But no one tops MGP.  I'm curious about their aging facilities (warehouses, locations, inventory) but I would have to find a talkative (ex)employee.

I hoped satellite view with google maps would give me a clue, but no help with that.  Any ideas about how to get information about their operations?
