What bourbon did you purchase today? Summer 2016

Picked up a bottle of Maker's Mark Private Barrel Select from Binny's.  I've had other private selections at bars that were incredible, so I can't wait to crack into this one.  Sure hope it holds up!

I continue to rip through bottles of Jackie's FW&S PS 1792 at an alarming rate, so picked up another yesterday, along with an OWA.  And, because I want to be like Harry when I grow up, I shoved an OGD BIB in the cart.  Now, to find a waste basket near my chair to store it in...

I grabbed a 1792 Full Proof for $43 plus tax. I have an open sweet wheat that I like and an unopened port finish. Excited to try these two but sadly it won't be for a few days thanks to a throat virus/infection. Absence makes the ... palate ... grow fonder?

Wandered in to a Virginia ABC store to pick up a copy of their "Spirited Virginia" magazine.  Had to check the bourbon aisle.  Picked up a MMCS just because it is Summer and wheated bourbons (and Bernheim) go pretty quickly in the heat.  Checked the HMcK BIBs and, low and behold, they had one bottle from barrel 2498 which I think is wonderful.  I now have a half dozen  That'll hold me for a few weeks.

came across an old forester single barrel store pick so had to grab that to try out.  they had a bunch of other store picks too, but passed on all of it.  MMPS, 2 different jefferson's picks, KC PS, and I think even a breckenridge PS.  kinda crazy as to all of the store picks they had.

It can go many ways. A group of chosen employees/managers may go to the distillery for the pick and they sometimes pick multiple barrels to spread amongst the stores.

It may be that they get 3-4 samples sent to them that they pick from.

It may be chosen for them by the distillery.

Sometimes, the local distributor makes the pick (via any of the methods above) and they sell the bottles in multiple different stores/chains.

Upon further examination, the label say "personally selected by...".  Which leads me to believe that someone/somewhere picked their favorite barrel.  If this person had ever drank bourbon before could be questionable.  But, for $25 I'll give it a go; I'm a sucker for private select single barrels thanks to this forum.

Picked up a couple of bottles of 1792 Full Proof today, and also picked up a FR Elliott's Select. I wasn't planning on picking up an Elliott's Select, but I also wasn't planning on coming across one. So when I came across one, I did in fact buy it. See how that works...

Picked up a little 375 ML bottle of MMCS because it was a decent price and because I have too much in my bunker overall.  Decided to take advantage of the relatively few number of premium bourbons that are actually available in a 375.  Cask strength means I can make it last a little longer than normal too.

picked up a 1792 full proof over the weekend and opened it up with a buddy.  definitely a lot better than the 1792SB and no banana taste to it!

Picked up a bottle of Tom's Foolery BIB, barrel #40.  For some reason, the ever reliable Tom's Foolery website does not have the exact mash bill for this barrel.  Or my phone will not display it correctly.  I'll check on my home computer and if no joy, will email them later and ask for it.

Haven't opened/tasted either of these yet, but the IWH15 seems to get decent reviews. Call me a snob, if you will, but I'm not really all that interested in Diageo bourbons...mostly 'cause of the marketing, I guess. Of the Diageo line, I've only ever tried Bulleit, and it's OK, but nothing special to me.
