I'm holding off on opening my PVW 23 until next summer when my son comes home from the Navy. Really looking forward to that day!

P-23 will be a fitting pour on such an occasion.   Please thank your son for his service.    The nation owes all service men and women more than can be said by a 'Thank You'; but that's what I've got.

Very steep price compared to Chicago ( approx $49 ) but a delicious pour. That said, it's been 18 months since I saw a RHF in the wild so I would bite on that as well

On the topic of RHF and Chicago - I've never seen this bottle in the city nor surrounding 'burbs. Curious if anyone else has?

Meijer had them for a brief time.  But, they switch out their products relatively often.  Last time I was in, I think they had blantons on their topshelf.

Saw some a few weeks ago. The price has gone up. The ones I spotted were priced ar $63.00.

One of my locals (which usually has pretty reasonable prices) had RHF for $99.00 last time I was in there. I think it will be there for a while.

Liquor Barn has them sometimes for $69... yikes.  saw it at a grocery store last month for $55 and picked up a bottle.  and now that I think about it, Garfield's had it last month as well, but for $69 as well, but I had already picked it up for $55 so I passed.

I picked up OFBB '15 and a '16, OWA (Lx2), W12(1.75) and a THH '16. Turned down a bunch of overpriced bottles but glad I made a good haul.

Had a good little run Thurs-Sat.  Found the RY10 here in NC the rest in FLA.  my first W12.  stoked to open it. we don't get those big 1.75s often or ever anymore so that was a nice find.  all retail store finds except the weller. I had to make a trade for that.  one more lottery shot soon. Otherwise no unicorns in sight.   some stupid nice finds in recent posts here!  nice work to all! Cheers!

I grabbed one at Binnys about 8 months ago...prior to that it was mid-15 so it does pop up occasionally

picked up a bunch of bottles this past week, not quite as flashy as what some others have gotten but FRPS OESO from Binny's (loved the last OESO pick they had, which was 13 years, but this was only 9), Blade & Bow, OF1920 and a PH 2016!  decided to jump in on that Parker's Heritage to see what it was about.  Also picked up an EC18 and Booker's Rye, but purchased them for a friend instead due to the price.

Picked up a family size 107, barrel proof EC, Rittenhouse Rye and a Bowman's Small Batch.

I love me some EC barrel proof!

Curious whether any of the Chicago folks have seen OWA or WL12 floating around in your area recently.  Thinking primarily about Binny's.  My son is heading up for the holiday and can pick up some if I can find it.  If you know of any, PM me.  Thanks.

I have done some general stocking recently - Blanton's, ER (store select), WTR101, 1792 SB (store select) and KCSB (store select).

Picked up a bottle each of JD 150th, WRMC Sherry Cask, Michter's 10 and ECBP.   Yea, I know JD is not bourbon but haven't had any JD product in years so I thought this would be a good one to have in bunker when JD drinkers are visiting.   Also decided to invest in the Michter's 10 to see how it taste.   Did the same for the WRMC.   I know I like the ECBP.

I know what you are trying to say, but JD is bourbon. 50+% corn, made in the US, aged in new, charred oak barrels, distilled to no more than 160 proof, barreled at no more than 125 proof and bottled at 80 proof or more.   :) This discussion flares up every few months for a few minutes. There have been a few "JD is not bourbon" posts over the last week that were left untouched as most everyone doesn't feel the need to rehash the discussion, but I figured after a few posts it was time to post the counterpoint. Cheers. Nice haul, even if it is "merely" bourbon. :D

Stagg Jr. 132.5. I needed to buy a little good will at the store that gives me some love, so I paid $60. I also overpaid on some rum by about $10. Let the investment for next fall begin.

Thought I scored a current release William Larue Weller through my friendly spirits manager. When I picked it up today (modest mark up over MSRP) turns out to be the 2015 release. Delighted to finally get a bottle of WLW, but, based on what I read, still need to finagle a 2016 release.  Will post notes when I clear some room on the bar.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

While it does not get a lot of love around here, the Michters 10 is a favorite of mine and great pair with a cigar by the fire!  Higher price than I prefer to spend, but liked the current release so much that I got a second bottle for the bunker.  Enjoy!
