Did they give you any indication how many bottles total they had? How soon after the email did you get there? I think we get low allocations to begin with which makes it more difficult.

A bottle of Booker's 2016-04, an Evan Williams BiB, an ER10 store pick single barrel, and a Buffalo Trace.  Lot's of things on sale in OR this month.

 There were 3 bottles of ETL on the same shelf a month ago I took 2 and left one it was still there today.  At $34.99 I had to take it home. . Also grabbed a  OWA $25.99, and  Baby Saz for $29.99 at the same place.   In NH a single barrel pick of WSR for $23.99

Picked up a bottle of blade and bow (key #5) and FR PS OESV. Already had a bottle of B&B (key #4) and was very pleased with the contents of the Stitzel -Weller's creation. First time seeing the #5 key and couldn't pass up the opportunity . The FR PS bottle blew me away. It was my first time picking up a PS bottle from FR and I will definitely be looking to try more in the future.

What is holiday shopping?


I think my wife has been lying to me - she explained it was a process of procuring things for people we love - thanks to this board I have seen the light, it's an opportunity to procure things WE love. At last check, I get 12 or 13 "holidays" a year so it is open season 365 days a year now

There was no mention of how many bottles they had.  I got the e-mail on Thursday afternoon that said I had to take advantage of the offer by Sunday, 12/11.  I called on Saturday and they said I could get what I wanted.  So I drove to the store and picked up the PVW20 and ORVW10 that I was looking for - debated on getting the VWFRR, but was running low on December bourbon budget . . . . . . . ;)

 

I think they got a very nice allocation of BTAC & Pappiez stuff since they didn't seem concerned about running out.  Once again, I'd rather be lucky than good - didn't win any more lotteries (other than the THH bottle a couple of weeks ago) for this year.  But I'm not greedy and am one happy camper right now.   Getting ready to start drinking my '15 WLW from last year's haul for Christmas after pouring off 100ml a month or so ago.  Yummmmm! :)

I similarly picked up an older batch of Booker's, C06-B-15, 7 years 3 months, 127.1 proof.  Screw the price increase--I have a few in the bunker, and I'll ride out the ridiculous jump in price from the sidelines.

I just came across a couple of 86 proof OGD bottles mixed in with a bunch of 80 proofers. I grabbed one at $18 and left the other for someone else who might want it. I prefer the 100 proof OGD over either of the lower proof ones so this wouldn't usually be of much interest to me, but I recently came into a few dusty bottles of 86 proof OGD from 1980 and 1981. I'm excited to do a side-by-side of the National Distillers juice and the modern stuff at the same proof.

I went back for the other dots Batch. But this is probably it. The guy apparently googled after I left and tried to charge me $100 for the last bottle. I told him he was nuts and he brought it back down to the original price. Sell it now or not at all at $100b66dc1e476114258ce346c310a810743.jpg

So he tried to raise the price based on what he read on the internet, after he had already sold you the first two bottles at the regular price?  :mellow:

It was about 4 hours later when I got back there. So yes. It blew my mind. I told him that it wasn't until next month for the price hike and he could make a little profit now with his standard markup or none at $100. But this guy is also holding on to a 1.75 of Trump vodka he is trying to sell for $1k. Sooo......

Fair number of Noe Secret, I think there were other batches but didn't look too close. Really enjoyed that batch so grabbed 3. My thought is to go back for some other batches if possible.

Grabbed a couple bottles of Booker's to beat the doubling of the price being spoken of everywhere (which makes me a bit suspicious that it's a ploy by Beam to clear shelves before the year ends), ...the Rocking Chair Batch.    My guy had a couple of the Bluegill Creek ones available as well, but I have a couple of those in the bunker already.    Not saying I'll never be a buyer at double the price (never say; 'never'); but, I don't foresee me spending over a C-note on Booker's.

At least not until my OTHER faves catch up in price.  Biting my finger as I type that.:rolleyes:
