It's a good one IMO, especially for the price. Some nice rye spice on the nose along with some other spices, and some caramel and vanilla with some more rye spice and some candy sweetness on the palate. I think I am up to three bottles purchased right now.

I have been impressed with 1792 offerings so far, looking forward to trying it.

Grabbed another 2 myself today. That makes a total of 6 in the past two weeks. As you might of guessed, I think it tastes very good. Almost a poor man's THH. Of course I got some for a fellow SBer as well because I am a nice guy and its the Holidays!

100% completely agree about the lagunitas High Westified. Fantastic beer.

A handle of age stated KC 100pf for $53.  Recent events have made me realize that the old Beam reliables are soon to be a thing of the past.

The higher age PVW's and BTAC will go into their toy and food drive lottery. Every can of food and toy donated gets you an entry each into the lottery. One entry per day for both. Last year my wife won a Birthday Bourbon. In the madness that is the LE bourbon market, I fully support this way of distributing the bottles and am happy to contribute even if I don't win.

 

Fortunate to get the Rip in this circumstance and also snagged an ECBP 139.6 since it's such an exceptional batch.

 

 

Hope that makes up (a little) for the TW Pappiez fiasco.  Not a fan of their "high-end" buyer distribution of BTAC and other LE stuff.  Lottery seems better for more folk, not just the rich 1%.  JMHO.   

 

In other news, picked up a couple of the new 130.0 proof StaggJrs yesterday.  I think my palate is adjusting (needs?) to the barrel-strength stuff.  Or am I just drinking too much??????

In light of recent news, grabbed a Booker's and OGD 114 for the bunker.  Booker's was 2013-6 - was that a roundtable selection?  

 

Resisted the urge to bunker even more.  Already have at least a couple of each in reserve.

Yes, 2013-6 was a roundtable selection, and one of the highest regarded recent releases. I still have a couple of bottles of it. Great stuff, 7 years 6 months if I recall, so a good deal older than the recent Booker's releases. Stock up on that one if you can.

Haven't seen that one..but wasn't looking either. I haven't been a big Lagunitas fan but like most Founder's releases although glad I passed on LoK. Will probably pick up some Backwoods Bastard.

Thanks, I had a pour and really liked it. The K yeast is definitely the way to go for me. And  yeah, it was one bottle of OWA, but I may swing around at some other point and hope he still has some. If not I'll settle for the pedestrian OWA single barrel I have from last year (just tastes like regular old OWA, not that that's a bad thing).

I found a Weller 12 for $59.99 and bought it. I know I over paid and am kicking myself for being making a stupid purchase but it's one of the bottles I've been looking for for quite awhile. I passed on it at a different store that had it at $89.99.

You should give Lagunitas another chance. There one hit series is incredible. The Born Yesterday that was released a couple of months ago was one of the best IPA/APA's I've ever had.

That is a good batch but to be honest I've never had a bad Booker's.

Picked up this guy. I wasn't actively seeking it, but after reading the positive comments here I decided if I saw it I'd give it a shot. At $42 it was just above my desired budget, but I'll stretch this one out as long as I can. Also picked up an OWA. Guess I'm all in on the wheaters today.
