JTaylor
Got back into a 4RSiBPS OESK 8y 9m, 115.8°. Trying to figure this one out. It has a very light nose, very tough to pick much out. It is all Cinnamon and brown sugar mid palate with just enough oak and leather to keep it in balance and really tasty but then the alcohol burn really comes through which I don't mind too much when I'm already getting that cinnamon-y Fireball vibe. Kind of a light mouth feel that feels really dry, and then the finish goes funky and I guess tannin-y... ? Not quite Beam funk but close... Not really turning out to be a favorite, but I'm going to try this one again when it gets warm enough out to have a cigar with it...

Some HH6yr, VOB BiB, EW BiB, 4RSmb, nothing as epic at that win but nothing could be, it almost makes up for XLII. I see Falcons fans reacting in a similar fashion to what we were dealt in that SB. ATL is a young strong team with a distinctly New England flavored front office. They will be be back and with a new stadium to boot. You guys have it better than anyone else has ever had it and likely ever will. No fans of any other team have any sympathy for all of the pain you have had to endure because you 'only' won 5 Super Bowls.
fishnbowljoe
It's been a pretty good week so far, so I decided to go with something special tonight. I'm having a nice pour of our SB HHSS Batch #1. All I can say is, wonderful. Cheers! Joe

Hop
Poured the remaining few ozs from a decanter of EC12 with a splash of water and headed out to the deck for a cigar and to enjoy the 65 degree weather, that lasted until about dusk when the temps dropped and the bourbon wasn't enough to keep me warm. Now inside and reloaded with some Blanton's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LCWoody
Having some mystery juice tonight. Every now and then I take a bottle of bourbon that I really enjoy and pour it into a 200 mL bottle for later and do not mark it just to see if I can figure out what bourbon I'm drinking. On this one, if I had to guess it's an OFBB.

smokinjoe
Thoroughly enjoyed a Bowman Single Barrel at the hotel bar, tonight. This is relevant for me, in that I have never liked this expression previously, as it always seemed overly hot and without much depth. Not, this bottle . The nose exploded with a terrific combo of caramel and brown sugar, and a nice and subtle "rickhouse" oak overtone. It's over the palate that it really dazzled, as the oak jumped through and just totally integrated itself with the sweet notes from the nose. Stunning, really. And, not hot at all. Dang near perfect, in fact. This has completely changed my perception of this label, and I will seek one out right away. I only hope that this is not just a good palate night, and that the whiskey is really as good as I think. Time (and my $ ), will tell.

kevinbrink
OGD 114, this bottle has been in the cabinet for well over a year and I have never really enjoyed it until now with probably 3 pours left in the bottle.
Dgriffin
We are about to get hit with a good snow storm tomorrow,so no work for me. I started tonight with WT101 and then some EC12. I think I will have some ETL or Blanton's next.
Jazz Nut
Having a WTKS store select. Tasting good, and moving on to Russell's Reserve Single Barrel store select. I guess it's a Wild Turkey evening!
Harry in WashDC
At a restaurant tonight, I had a neat pour of Town Branch (Alltech Distilling & Brewing, Lexington, KY). I posted a few more notes on the SB thread of the same name. I think this might be some of Alltech's own make. If so, Alltech should be happy as it is "not bad" for a young (3+ year?), non-straight, NAS (at least I couldn't find "straight" or an age statement in the REALLY small, italicized print) bourbon. YMMV.

I think this one is overlooked myself - I find the same issues you have in the past with the Small Batch but the SB is just an outstanding pour in fact I have found myself wanting to open a bottle for the last couple of nights and you probably just convinced me to go ahead tonight

Having spent 4 years in Boston for college I'm a bit sensitive about its "long suffering" fans. Boston has what? 30 professional sports championships? Atlanta has 1. From more than 25 years ago. When you said "now Atlanta knows how we feel" you struck a nerve. That said, I'm not above accepting a bribe or olive branch!

Hop
A little pour of Blanton's to start the evening. Not the best bottle of Blanton's I've had but good nonetheless. That's a Whiskey and Woodsmoke candle it's sitting on top of made by a friend of a friend in ATL who started a candle business a couple of years ago. That's also my favorite glass at least until the SB.com glassware becomes available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
