I'm a hypocrite! I broke down and bought a Blanton's today. Its not my favorite but I wasn't sure when I'd see it again for retail.. $55. Should have stocked up on ER10 instead for $28!

Whether you like it or not, the wow factor when friends come over with Blanton's on the shelf is well worth it.

I finally found a CEHTBP. Never had it before. It's one of the bottles I didn't see all last year so I'm super excited to give it a taste. This is a 127.5 proof bottle. I now have 98 bottles of bourbon and I told my wife I wouldn't go over 100 so I really need to empty a few.

That's a really good one.:)

Got an email that ECBP A117 was in so I went and picked one up. Hopefully this cold backs off soon so I can taste it!

Picked this up. There are a couple things that attract my attention to a bottle.

1. The words "Bottled in Bond"

2. An age statement.

3. A label that has hand writing on it. It has to be really good if someone took the time to write on the label.

Check, check, and check. You are going home with me.

A bottle of ECBP, batch #12.  I went to the store thinking it was the new batch #13 but decided to get it anyway.  They're all good. :)

You're in KY.........have you tried HH 6year BIB? it's cheaper than the EWBIB, and I think even better.

I have a bottle of Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond. I also think it is better than Evan Williams BIB. I also prefer the Old Fitzgerald BIB and Very Old Barton BIB over EW BIB. I still like EW BIB and find it to have a different character than the other 3 BIB I just mentioned.

Picked up these two yesterday. Haven't tried either (although I've had the 12, I've yet to try the NAS) but the prospect of a Single Barrel EC store pick and a $12 7year age stated that has gotten some positive reviews on here were too good to pass up. I did get to sample the Virgin 101 last night. I think I'll have to revisit it when I have more time. It was tasty (caramel, butterscotch and oak) but hot. I think it will open up nicely with a splash.

Very nice, I actually grabbed one yesterday on a whim from Payless.  Can you share the stave selection on back?  I was able to sample my bottle (pictured below).  Very rich flavor with just enough spice.  This would be a cool barrel pick to be involved with, so many possibilities.

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner.  I have been away from the site for a few days.

Totally different stave selection on mine.  1 Baked America Pure 2, 3 Seared French Cuvee, 3 Maker's 46 and 3 Roasted French Mocha.  Would be interested to try different "recipes" to see how different they really are.

No WLW's for me at the end, got an email telling me that people rushed to the store to get all the bottles and they can't honor their online orders. Sad day. :(

Not to be outdone by OldFitzWithTheGoldLabel I was perusing the shelves of one of our local establishments and next to the regular VOB, pushed way back to the back of the shelf was this little gem.

VOB6_zpscwlduxct.jpeg  This has seemed to be a favorite of some of the BIB lovers so for $15 I thought I couldn't go wrong.

Picked up some MM Private Select. First I've seen of it in NJ. 111 proof.

Where did you find it and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I bought one at the MM gift shop last year and though not the biggest fan of theirs I have a friend who really is.

Awesome, surprised at the price I don't think I paid that much more in the gift shop. Hoping when I crack mine I enjoy it more than regular MM cask which I don't really care for. Cheers!

I don't think you'll be disappointed.  One suggestion would be to let the pour set for a few minutes before tasting.  My first pour of this I took a sip pretty much as soon as it hit the bottom of the glass.  Was really put off by it and thought, "I've finally found one I really am not going to like".  After opening up the flavor profile changed completely.
