What bourbon did you purchase today (winter 2016/17)?

Two more bottles of HHBiB 6yr at $10.99.  Down to one source of this locally.  I've been grabbing at least one bottle whenever I stop in.

I long for the good old days of being able to buy EC 18 for about $40.     Ah .....the nostalgia is getting to me.

I don't normally kiss and tell but......  got email for like 248!  A lot of cash but we don't see much of those in central ok , okc area!

Stopped by the store where I found a handle of WSR a couple of weeks ago just to see what they had, plus I knew they were the only place in town that had any Blanton's.  Picked up a bottle of WSR for a friend, grabbed one of the Blanton's and was talking to the guy at check out and said I would love to know when they got any W12 or OWA.  He went over to a bottom shelf and 

well, made my day!  He had put it back for a regular customer who didn't come back to get it and since I had been buying more frequently from him he said it was mine.

John O's or Packages and More?

A local LS had 3 samples of WSR barrels, and was offering tastes.  Of the 3, I had 2 that I preferred - one had more spice, the other a more traditional WSR taste.  Owner said they picked the more traditional one.  I offered to buy 3 bottles of it now, but he said to wait for it to come in.  Looking forward to that. 

 

I soothed my urge to buy with 2 375ml of GJ for $10 each.  Much less than regular 750's here.

I bought it. The NAS bottles are starting to show up in alarming numbers in my area. I should have been more careful, I guess I'll have to drink my mistake.

The 9year old came from another store down the road, I have to admit the "Hand Selected" tag intrigued me. I don't know the

story behind it but I'm sure it will drink just fine.

 

Interesting.  I am not sure I have a hand selected barrel that didn't identify the store.  I passed on a Belmont Beverage (Ft. Wayne) hand selected KC earlier this week.  I probably should have picked it up.  Maybe next time.

Neither.  John O's doesn't have any Weller or Blanton's right now but I'm on their list if they get any W12,  P&M aren't putting any Weller out along with some of their other limited stocks (holding them back for Black Friday) which kind of ticks me off.  I got these at E'town Discount Liquors over on the west side of town.  They told me basically they put what they get on the shelves and if it's there when you stop by you get it.

Thanks to a fellow SB'er and good friend, I got a handle of OWA and 2 - 750's-- he brought them back from Michigan. My first ever handle of OWA ...pretty cool bottle. This stuff is non existent around these parts. I'll be set for a week or so....

Made a run through the Championship state of Alabama today. Picked these from an ABC store. It's strange to me that state has ABC and package stores. I'm told the package stores must purchase their stock from ABC retail stores? Weird.

I actually long for 19-cent-a-gallon gas!    We used to go a couple miles away just to put buck's worth in the tank at a particular intersection where there were gas stations on three of the four available corners. 

Can you say "Gas Price War"?    What a deal for most of one summer... just kept going down a penny or two at a time 'til it was 19-cents.     That held for about a month, then somebody woke up.    Too bad!

Nice. Been a while since I lived in Etown so have not been to Etown Discount Liquors.
