I do that too. I use empty 375s and 200ml bottles. I need to take some pics of my open bar and throw them up here sometime soon.

When you decant family sized bottles getting low into unmarked bottles you have to shout "bingstein!"

It's for the back pain from all the chores I had to do around the house to make up for bringing home bottles the last few weeks.

I think you'd be crazy not to do that. I save 375s with good screw caps for that exact reason.

I don't know, but I always MARK my bottles, unmarked bottles make for a truly blind tasting.

Thanks guys. adub23 - are your cabinets from Ikea? Looks very similar to mine but can't tell if they're exactly the same. I love my setup, have had it for about 4 years. Cheap and easy to set up. Just bought some glass shelves for the middle one to make it look more like a bar, and used to have books on the side ones. But the collection has expanded too much!

Yes, the Besta line I think it was called. I was debating swapping out the solid shelves for glass as well. Now seeing yours I will do that for sure. I think the glass shelves give you a little extra room per shelf too which would probably allow more room at the top for the tall BTAC and EH Taylor bottles.

Did you put lighting in there as well? From the picture it looks like you may have two of those puck type lights on the middle cabinet top shelf but wasn't sure. I was debating this as well or maybe going with some LED strip lighting on the bottom of each shelf. Haven't had a chance to do that yet though.

I really like the glass shelves. They're not nearly as easy to move though, since they don't sit on brackets like the regular shelves. As long as you're not going to need to move them around, they're great. These are the ones I have http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30103474/

Yes, there are lights at the top. They're the cheap battery powered ones you press to turn on. I think I got them at Home Depot. Only at the top though, not on every shelf.
