It is the original Oceans I crave, however I tried to get some Oceans 2 as well but apparently Maryland was shipped a total of 6 bottles. At least according to my local distributor.

Odd how different regions differ. As TT notes here we have literally oceans of Ocean II on the shelf, at least the last time I looked.

And for good reason I might add. It is a perfectly adequate $25 bourbon. Too bad that isn't what it costs...

  • 2 weeks later...

The Buffalo Trace/Bowman/Barton family.

All of the OWA are various single barrel offerings.

The AAA was the last of the TPS single barrels.

The Abraham Bowman's are all TPS bourbons and rye

No pics...but I got some new storage shelves and reorganized my bottles. I'm up to 72 unopened bottles.

Time to go on a buying moratorium and get to drinking...

Here's what I have open and a few loose bottles as well...not including what I have stashed in about 8 or so boxes. I'll have to pull those out for a photo shoot some other day.

All those old rare breeds...hnghhhhhhh

Dont wanna be 'that guy' but I gotta ask, whats in the coke bottle?

Oh, I have more...;)

The contents of that WT101 375 are in the coke bottle. And the contents of a VOF (or what's left of the VOF) from 1969 are in the WT101 bottle. If I could upload full resolution pictures from my PC you could read the sharpie writing on all of the labels, but the only way I can attach images is with tapatalk. For the time being at least.

Edit: any bottle under 750ml is a sample bottle and does not contain it's original product.

Thanks...

EWJ, the plastic seal on the Rare Breed used to be brown instead of clear like it is now.

This is quite lame, but its what happens when you scale back your operations on open bottles. Had probably 25, now what you see. When I get to toward the bottom, I switch to an amber 4 or 2 oz'r. If I get sick of something or produce a dud vatting, it goes into my 'graveyard' bottle.

There's much more in back stock, but ill be the first to say I'm not much of a collector nor do I really have a bunker. I drink what I like and, given the unobtainumness of said likeage, then those bottles sit until I find another. I also don't feel the need to fill out my bar cause I ain't got one; its more about easy access in the house.

I also hoard samples for some strange reason. Some are rare in the true sense of the word (not the bourbon bubble chaser nonsense sense) and some are nothing special at all. I guess my mind has me convinced that if I ever find another similar sample or bottle I'll be able to do an honest SBS, blind vertical, etc. I'm no fun at tastings or bourbon G2G's because I can usually guess what I'm drinking as well as tell everyone what's wrong with it like if the barrel rolled 6 too many times coming off the rack to be dumped. ;)

I know therapy is an option, but you can't prove it works!!!! :P

Some fine opens there Boots. I'm assuming you have a healthy back stock of unopens at least. Otherwise, you need to re-up on all those 2-pours-to-empty bottles.
