Spock, huh?

For the record: Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott (a.k.a. "Scotty") served as second officer and chief engineer aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk.

As the ship engineer, Scotty without a cell phone camera may be worse than Spock! Unless federation clearance levels forbid cameras on cell phones. :D

I unpacked my cabinet while moving and had 'em on the counter for a few days, much to the wife's shargrin. Nothing fancy or rare, just stuff I like to drink and don't feel bad about opening. Added a couple more last weekend (Henry McKenna BIB, and Four Roses Small Batch)

And that bottle on the table in the video you posted is an old George Dickel decanter.

Here are my babies! Cooped up in the island in our kitchen while we are waiting on our basement bar to be built. This does not include the other 6 bottles of Weller 12, 1 bottle of OWA, 1 bottle of Heaven Hill Select Stock, and 1 bottle of SAOS10 that i have hidden in the basement.

Here's my bunker. I purchased some new shelving back in February. It was a nice winter time project. I keep my bottles in boxes to reduce exposure to light but I pulled them out for pictures while putting together the shelving.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I don't recall seeing the question posed. Do you guys and gals ever worry about earthquakes? I haven't given it much thought but Michigan had an earthquake hit 4.2 on the Richter scale yesterday - this is an extremely rare event in Michigan. I was fortunate and didn't lose anything but a lot of people around here said their houses were shaking quite noticeably.

:toast:

Which part of Mid MI? Can you PM me which stores you frequent for some of those nicer bottles? Wondering if your stores you go to might be close enough when I am up visiting family in Shiawassee county to make a trip worthwhile for me to get some of those more unique bottles.

Most of those limited release beers were obtained directly from their respective breweries. That's one of the good things about where I live - I live within 90 minutes from a dozen top notch breweries.

I will send you a PM with some shop info.

I forgot to mention, there are some pics earlier in this thread of guys that have 'basket' shelves to prevent bottles from tipping off the shelves if bumped. Thanks for the PM.

I'm in Lansing and it rattled some bottles. Second strongest quake on record, plus being very rare you're probably OK. Last significant one that I remember was early 90's, I think. So, probably bigger chance of snow caving in a wall or something. :P

Nice bunch of ribs too. Man, top notch Bourbon, great Michigan beer, smoked ribs. Living the high live in the Mitten.

I get the ole dirty look from the wife every time I enter, but I enjoy a nice pour at night and quite frankly it is part of our heritage. Ironically if I never would have met her, my plans were always to get a place in Rachel, NV and observe the sky every night; but that is a discussion for another night. Greetings to Nevada from Kentucky.

I am one of those with the basket shelves. The picture is here although the basket is a bit tough to see. This older picture may be better to see the baskets.

I put a thin sheet of plywood on the shelf to help them stand up better. I am mostly concerned about bumping them and knocking bottles off the shelves but Georgia has had the occasional tremor as well. The shelves are also tied to the studs behind them but that would likely make little difference in a major earthquake, which admittedly seems unlikely here. Tornadoes are probably more likely!

There is no "might" about it. But it sure is a tasty problem!

Did a little rearranging in my repurposed gun cabinet so I could better display my EWSB collection. It's not complete but getting closer.
