It's not a painting ya know

Don't mean it ain't pretty as a picture.

Wife's going out of town in 10 days. I plan on pulling everything out for inventory and a photo shoot. Not stupid enough to do it before then.

Slowly but surely got a nice stash built up. The six pack of Pappy 15's range from 2008-2012. I had to throw in a dusty OWA gold veined into the mix...

Looks like a bottle in the background jumped the border fence and snuck into the background...

@ Restaurant Man - if you look carefully.....a JPS17, WLW, Pappy 15, and if you could see through the red velvet a Pappy 20 is open. Plus, I didn't think it was necessary to take photos of half empty GTS, ECBP, WL Weller Centennial, and several Willett single barrels but i guess that would have proved that I do Drink them. They are all for drinking, just not sure it's necessary to have multiple bottles of the same bourbon open. I was simply showing off my "stash".

Yes, a few tequilas slipped in, don't shun me please. I also like older Rums this time of year as well...

What's with the white tags around the neck of each bottle?

I was wondering the same thing. Anyway very nice collection

All the same retailer?

The white tags are just wine neck labels. Each of those bottles is from a different year/release and I mark them accordingly. This way I don't have to always look for the laser etching code to figure out what year it was bottled. Also, for the GTS and Handy, I put the age of the bourbon since they are different every release. I know it's pretty geeky, but it works for me. Actually, all but 2 of those bottles were purchased from the same retailer. The OWA gold veined and JPS 17 were found off of the beaten path.

Geeky is good ... I may borrow this idea!

I just put lil stickers on the bottom of the bottles, but this works too!

I keep data on a spreadsheet that resides on Dropbox ... so I always have access. I'm thinking of using the necktags, and adding a skull & crossbones ... maybe my son will take the hint, and stop pilfering my good stuff!

I know it's hard to see it, but it sounds like you raised a good one!

Geez, I hope he doesn't refill with water to make the fill level look right. We used to do that to my friend's Dad's booze because he would mark the fill level. It just so happens that I was living in Charleston at the time. Hmm...

If I had to give up every bottle and only keep one it would be the Overholt from the 60's

The metal screw cap OO is from '68, I finished another 500ml that was from '67.. The others are from the early 80s and while they are amazing pours they aren't quite as full bodied as the bottles from the 60s.. I have a '50s bottling arriving tomorrow and will be hard pressed not to open it immediately

May have to arrange a tasting (no, not the BX usage) of the OO dusty - very curious now. The Pikesville looks interesting as well.

I have not tried one from the 60's, but the OO dusties would be my choice too! Nice collection you have there!
