dcbt
Got an email from the crew over in The Fort (Firestone & Robertson Distillery, makers of TX Bourbon), and though I don't like their bourbon very much they at least are doing it the right way. I know it's encouraged to use snippets instead of whole verbiage, but like I said it was in an email and not on the web so I don't have a linky poo. Whiskey Ranch: Now Open Hey Y’all, We have very exciting news to share! As many of y’all know, our current distillery is located in a revitalized pre-prohibition warehouse just south of downtown Fort Worth, at 901 W. Vickery Blvd. While this location will remain open for continued production, tours, and more, we are very excited to announce the opening of our second location, Whiskey Ranch, which will serve as our new home. Whiskey Ranch sits on a historic golf course, formerly known as Glen Garden Country Club. We have had the privilege of preserving most of these grounds, and while we will maintain the 18-hole golf course, we will only be using it for charity and private events. Whiskey Ranch will be the largest whiskey distillery west of the Mississippi, and will allow us to cater to the growing demand for our award-winning TX Whiskey and TX Bourbon, all while maintaining the same quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. An Immersive Experience Whiskey Ranch will provide a unique and immersive consumer and event experience. A grand stone entrance and a winding paved road leads visitors across a pastoral setting to the heart of the property, which showcases dramatic views of Downtown Fort Worth. Driving to the distillery buildings you arrive at the main artery, The Courtyard. This open courtyard, with its lush greenery, fire pit and lighting, separates the Still House and the visitor center. The Still House has large barn doors which reveal our grand 45-foot copper column still. Across the courtyard is our visitor center called the Ranch House, which will serve as the hub of activity at Whiskey Ranch. Guests will be led to a dedicated check-in area before arriving at the Ranch Store, a 2,000-square-foot retail area showcasing our products and merchandise, along with craft goods from local and Texas artisans. The Barrel Breezeway is a pathway that connects all rooms within the Ranch House. The breezeway has been designed to mimic a barrel barn or rick house (where whiskey barrels are stored for aging). The breezeway leads to The Tavern and The Oak Room. The Tavern is available for tastings and features a large custom bar, comfortable seating, and historic Glen Garden Country Club memorabilia on display. Around the corner is the Oak Room, with a floor-to-ceiling tiered rock fireplace, sealed concrete floors, oversized round chandeliers with industrial pendant lighting, and plenty of natural light. The Oak Room is intended for corporate and private events of any kind and can accommodate approximately 175 people. Opening from the Oak Room is a two-sided wraparound covered patio with additional seating for 130, called the Back Porch. This area features two outdoor fireplaces, and a grand staircase which leads to Benders Lake and the 18-hole golf course. The Oak Room The Tavern Barrel Barn #1 What Sets It Apart Whiskey Ranch will be the largest whiskey distillery west of the Mississippi, the only one on a fully functioning 18-hole golf course, and the first with a 45-foot copper column still in full view, along with the world’s first “doubler” designed with sight windows for public tours. The site has four deep water wells, which will be used to craft the beloved TX Bourbon. Still House Benders Lake Barrel Breezeway The Opening Consumers will be able to enjoy a preview of Whiskey Ranch on Thursdays and Fridays in November and December from noon to 5 p.m. beginning November 10 (except holidays). The Ranch House will be open and guests can walk the historic grounds, relax in any of the indoor or outdoor gathering areas, enjoy the spirits, shop, and more. Daily tours will begin in January 2018 and Whiskey Ranch is now open for private events.
