tanstaafl2
Looks like I will be in Louisville for the Super Bowl as we have a FR barrel pick on Monday. Don't really have a dog in the fight, except that I wouldn't mind seeing the Pats lose! Past time for somebody else. Kinda wanted the Vikings but the "Iggles" would do. Got to give Brady and Belichick their due I suppose but if the AFC game was any indication it will be hard to do against the Pats AND the refs too. Will never convince me the Pats had only one penalty. I didn't see any holding or pass interference for example but I did see several incidences of mugging by the Pats offensive line and secondary... Any locals know of any place to go watch the game that won't be just stupid crowded or should I just stick to my hotel room? Kind of inclined toward the latter to be honest. Richnimrod
Hmmm. My experience with L'ville bars is extremely limited; but, any tavern or similar establishment on Super Bowl Sunday just screams insanity to me. I think your inclination to enjoy (if possible) the game in private, as well as waaaay-better-priced pours (assuming you've self-supplied) makes the most sense. And we will certainly be well supplied!
Paddy
Admittedly, I've only spent one Super Bowl on the road, but I found my hotel bar to be a nice, laid back atmosphere for that particular game. I certainly wouldn't want any part of a 'sports bar' scene/ crowd, as I want to be able to see and hear!
