bourbonv
In March 1812 John Corlis formed a partnership with George and William Nightingale to distill gin in Providence, Rhode Island. Later he discusses the difficulty of obtaining rye to distill in the distillery because of the coastal embargo stating that he thought "this embargo was aimed more at New England than at old". I know when he came to Kentucky he owned a whiskey distillery. Anyone living in Providence who might be able to look and see if this distillery was distilling both whiskey and gin?Mike Veach
