A quick word on valuation. I am NO fan of the price creep we are experiencing, in fact it has taken a good bit of the fun out of this hobby. At 10.50 HH6 is/was a no brainer, an outstanding bourbon. At the 15-27 range it now competes price-wise with WT101, OGD bib, VOB bib and why shouldn't it? They are all very different profiles and IMO all worthy of purchase. HH6 is a bib 6yr expression, 4Rsmb is by comparison a 90p 6-ish yr. expression for about 30.00 locally in metro ATL, that is where I have trouble, not with the HH but with 4R. Again, no one wants to pay more but suggesting that HH6 at even 27.00 is overpriced when the shelves are bulging with bourbons at that price and SIGNIFICANTLY higher, that are not as good, is a stretch. For those on the fence, if you see it and haven't had it, if it is truly being discontinued, pick one up. It isn't buy by the case anymore at 20+ bucks but it certainly holds its own in that price class.

Whether it competes well with WT101, OGD Bib or VOB BiB is all a matter of one's personal taste preference.  Everyone has a different opinion on it, and some may feel it's worth $27.  This would be a pretty boring board if we all agreed on everything.  I personally don't think it's in the same league as WT101 or OGD BiB, but that's just me.  I do think it's good juice though.

Over the weekend I was in several places wanting $20, but did find a spot where it was 12.99. Picked up 3.

Agreed! I went almost a year without trying 4R because their expressions appeared overpriced for what they are. Now that I’ve had some single barrel offerings I love the stuff, but I’m still not interested in the YL or SB. The HH6 can step up into that next tier easily.

That’s why it says IMO, if IYO its not worth it, cheers. We all buy and drink what we like.

Anyone know anything about the new HH BIB on the way?

I’m hearing at least 4 years old and 100 proof. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

They already have that. It's called Evan Williams BIB.

And TW Samuels and JW Dant which like JTSB, HH & EW are all the same (as far as I know) mashbill. You also have FC 101 which is just 1 proof point higher though it's probably also not a product of a single season.

I was going to say that we were missing some but Kevin covered that with his reply.

I checked all of the HH label approvals over the last year and not one has been for a BIB product or something that would be a logical replacement, interesting that Breaking Bourbon has something listed there but hard to imagine that if it was something imminent that it wouldn't be filed by now.

Very weird. How far in advance do label approvals usually occur before product release?

Not really a clear cut answer though for context HH filed this years PHC on 6/21/18 HH 27 year on 6/12/2018 and OF 11 yr BIB was filed 2/15/18, nothing on file for the fall release but it's not clear to me that it needs additional approval (especially since there is that 14 year batch floating around out there).

The HH 6yo 90 proof green label is really good too, and still readily available for a really good price. I brought a handle back from Kentucky that was on sale for $22.99.

I could never figure out why you could get the green in handles but not the white BIB. Never bought the green because the BIB was so cheap.

I had hoped it would withstand it, as a KY or limited distro release, under the radar and at a bottom shelf price. This was one for the enthusiasts, it’s a damn shame!!
